Thanks for posting this video. Is there any reason I couldn’t extend the wire by around 4 foot? I have a 12.5 ft garage.

Short answer, no. You will prob wind up with not enough space on the axle to wind the extra 4’ of cable. Once you buy it you can do whatever you want with it, at your own risk. The secondary cable is a backup, but it isn’t even tensioned under normal use.

Got it. I might give it a try. My plan would would be to leave the extension hang below and only lift up to whatever the manufacturer intended (I think 79 inches). That would get me approximately two foot from the ground. the hardest part might be cutting off the eyebolts as they look to be permanently attached to the cable?
