I just did a lot of similar work in my garage only we went from a 2 car garage to a 3 car garage so we got to sprawl out a bit more. Hopefully I'll get my video out soon. I always find getting the garage set up and organized so satisfying. Nice work!

I’ve done pretty much the exact same thing after downsizing from a four car garage… It takes a lot of imagination, decisions, and compromise. But it’s all good 👌🏼👍🏼😊 Great video!

to help with the hardware kit (anchors/screws) I found one called pop-toggle which includes larger quantity of screws and anchors which are the same size that come in the rubbermaid package

Nice job! Thanks for the links in your video description. I think I can use some of your ideas in my garage as well. The fast track system looks great! I’ll have to research that white wall board system as well. Let me know if you have any info on the manufacturer name (for example if you buy any added hanging pegs/brackets) ... like that it is white and looks attractive. Thanks for sharing this! 👍🏻

I would just use a black zip tie to pull the shelves even. Nice idea with turning wasted space into usable space. 👍🏻

Yes I replaced them all with black zip ties and it looks even better.

For the overhead shelves, how far did you space them from the front wall garage? And are you happy with the orientation of them? I’m thinking of installing them the same way. But I’ve see a lot of people install them perpendicular to how you have them, but I think it could we harder to get stuff on and off because of the garage door tracks getting in the way. Great video!

Thanks 😊 I absolutely agree this orientation is the best use of space. The trusses above my garage are 24” on center so my guess is that’s the distance from the wall. It’s fine for me, but obviously the door needs to be closed to access that side. And it’s really freaky when your wife comes home and opens the door while you’re on the ladder so I’d recommend pulling the red handle to disengage the door opener before going up!

Quick question, I noticed during your garage tour that you have a Generac generator? I’ve been thinking about one especially since our tremendous winter storm in Texas.

Yes I was fortunate that the previous owner had it installed. We lose power a couple times a year and that thing runs everything in the house, including air conditioning.

These are 20 years old so I don’t have an exact link, but you can find parking blocks on Amazon.

Why are you using plywood for your shelving? I thought the fleximount system came with wire rack shelves?

You can get them with racks, but they cost more and are harder to slide things on. I prefer to use wood.
