great stuff, just built the full reductoclip independent wall solution and gone from having my neighbours tv louder than mine to hearing absolutely nothing.

That's fantastic. Always great to hear peoples success stories. Glad we could be of help.

Hi there - its Jonathon from Yorkshire Steel Buildings! That demo was great - can't believe how much resonance it takes out of that beam! Might need some of that to help with my drum room!

Hi Jonathon, thank you for the loan of the Steel! Glad you enjoyed the demo. Actually we do a huge amount of drum rooms and home studios / practice rooms. We can certainly help you with that!

How does this compare to the Techsound 50 product, is it a direct replacement from a different manufacturer or does it have different qualities?
@SoundproofingStore Жыл бұрын
Hi @LeonEvans_Guyver1, the FlexiSound 5 can be used as a cost effective alternative to Tecsound SY100 (self adhesive). With the same dampening properties and also with a high mass to thickness ratio. Tecsound SY50 is 5kg per m² in weight compared to 10kg per m² for the FlexiSound and Tecsound SY100. More info can be found here: soundproofingstore.uk/product/flexisound-self-adhesive/

I have 1 wall that I only have the space for the Soundboard 4. Would adding this with the Soundboard 4 be a good idea to help boost that soundproofing? I only have about 40mm of space total before the window unfortunately.
@SoundproofingStore11 ай бұрын
Hi @antjdavenport, the FlexiSound used alongside SoundBoard 4 will certainly add more mass to the wall and further help with dampening vibration.

How does this compare to MLV?
@SoundproofingStore7 ай бұрын
It is similar to MLV in regard to thickness, density, mass per square metre. The difference is that FlexiSound is far more visco elastic so has a better damping quality and is easier to install due to the self adhesive nature.

What Decibel reduction can you expect to get from FlexiSound?
@SoundproofingStore Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that is a very difficult question to answer. It's far more complex than material manufacturers and suppliers generally make out. The problem with sound is that the reduction you get from materials changes depending on 1. The rest of the construction 2. The volume and frequency of the noise you are blocking. Officially if you tested FlexiSound on it's own (in a building regulation style test at 100dB of noise) it would reduce around 28dB. But if you added it directly to a wall that is already blocking 40dB it might give around 3dB improvement. Added to a stud wall or timber floor along with our SoundBoard 4 or SoundMat 3 as detailed in the video, it will probably give a 3-5dB improvement. It really depends on so many factors. It's like asking how fast will my car go after adding a turbo, the answer is, it depends how fast your car was before adding the turbo.

Hi @joshuacasey8467, unfortunately not. FlexiSound is only available in the UK at the moment.

Hi i'm looking at soundproofing my party wall in the living room. But also thinking about soundproofing the ceiling. Just wondering which job I should do first? The wall or ceiling. Thanks
@SoundproofingStore11 ай бұрын
Thank you for the question. To be honest, there is no black and white answer to this. It really depends on many factors such as where exactly the noise is coming from, what type of noise, what soundproofing you are planning to use on both surfaces etc. Feel free to get in touch with us to have a more detailed chat. www.soundproofingstore.co.uk

can this be used on a ceiling sandwiched between two layers of soundblock plasterboard
@SoundproofingStore Жыл бұрын
It certainly can!

Could you use this in a cupboard that your fridge freezer is in? Our family fridge freezer is in a cupboard but the (I think) compressor vibrates and emits humming.
@SoundproofingStore11 ай бұрын
Hi @teejoyu36, it would certainly help. As to how much depends on how loud the noise is and how much vibration is travelling into the floor structure. It might be that you would also need to address the floor. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJbIhYCAm7mZe8U
