Back on flexo press after 9 years. Was operator on old school stack press then with fountain rollers, no dr blades. My dad is running a brand new uteco crystal waterbase press. We print on plastic bags. Scotts miracle gro etc. We have uv and water base.

Thanks for the refresher - I work for Toray Films (Toray Plastics America) and often call on the converting base. Actually call on CP and ProAmpac. I have lots of training on film making but your video helped prep me for a tech call at CP. If you ever need assistance developing a class on oriented film making (mainly PET or OPP) let me know and I can assist with some material.

Everything is fine but the Fountain Roller is something from the past (like 1980 machines). You could replace that image and show how more modern flexo machines are build with a doctor blade chamber.

Flexo has its place but not much skill involved....thus dont expect high pay as with offset. The "doctor blade" decides how much ink is transferred, not the operator. The only to adjust color in flexo is to change the ink color. You cannot add or substract how much ink is applied in flexo as you can in offset. Offset has infinite ink control "by the operator" thus requires more eye for color. Thats a skill and skill pays $$
