Have Mercy! THANK YOU for showing the deflation feature! All these reviews you are the only one to show this. Deflation is the biggest reason for me to buy this. I blow things up with my lungs no problem. But deflation takes unnecessary long time and sleep pads can be folded smaller with more of the air removed.

I have a four chamber inflatable and this thing looks like it will really reduce the set up time. You’re right, that deflation facility is a game changer. Thank you for the video.

Yar...i purchased the first Flextail based on your review & that little thing is the bomb. I agree...the deflation aspect of its operation is a winner; turns out it was the only way I got my Aluft 140 mat back into the stuff sack, lol. You make good reviews of useful, quality products; thanks.

Ordered. Being able to deflate kayak easily with this is worth taking this along. Also great for holiday packing and removing all the air from vacuum bags for the return flight home!

Yes, the deflation looks like a winner after a kayak trip!

Dan👍👍 Great review and demo, thanks. Looks to be a serious piece of kit this, the utility is a plus too. I probably wouldn't use for a kayak but for air mats, pillows and the ability to have a lantern and recharge device, yeah it's cool. A friend I know uses a similar device with a small length of tubing to also blow air into his campfire when needed, works perfectly. Nice video. Enjoy!

10:45- on losing air when you take it off. I'm sure you're figured this out by now, but at least on my Thermarest pad the pump is small enough that you can close the valve before shutting the pump off. No air lost!

I don't have the larger air gear but the bigger sibling to the mini one looks just the job for your kayak. :) W

It's a high volume low pressure (hvlp) pump. Not designed for topping off at higher pressures. Not a design flaw, just inherent of all lp pumps.

I like that alot Dan, mine has 3 chambers, but if it can do all of that, I'm sure it would manage it. The only thing I would worry about is mine requires an exact pressure, but I could always check that with my pump 😁 Thanks for sharing the little gizmo 👍

Great review thanks. Just wondering if the pump will work on the newer thermarest xlite with the winglock valve ?
@CampLifeBushcraft2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I’ve not seen that particular valve but I’m almost certain it would. There is something for every mat in the bag. However if your only going to inflate a mat maybe look at the tiny pump from the same company. It’s much smaller and lighter for your pack. I’ve a video on the original pump and the new tiny pump x2 which I’m using a lot at the moment. They’re all good products though. They just work 👍

How many times can you pump that thing on a single charge? And are you then using high or low speed?

Hello , Great product with a really nice presentation ! But is this product able to inflate a bicycle tyre ? It could be a must. Or for net FLEXTAILGEAR Pro Pro II version... Thanks a lot and best regards !

Do you know if it has over discharge protection on the battery such as a hard stop once it uses up most of it? I had an old model and it would keep discharging and the pump speed just keeps dropping until it completely dies.

I've not had that happen so far.

Afraid not. My experiment was very unscientific. However I’ve recently tried it pumping up a paddle board. To no success at all.

So I accidentally bought the smaller one without the light and non rechargeable. Would even fully inflate my sleep mat properly so now you've just made me buy another 😂 could've probably got away with the one below but for a few quid more why not eh 👍

Decent pump that Mr CLB, as you know I have the smaller air mat version and TBH it's changed my game for the better, yes it's a little noisey and destroys the ambience a little but hey if it saves you pumping hard for 10 minutes then it's all good right? I think even an electrical pump would struggle the last couple of breaths to blow up such a presureised item TBF, so if you have to manually pump it for a few seconds so what. #Pump

What PSI does your Kayak normally need?

Due in large part to your favourable reports I have ordered an Intex Challenger K2, and it should arrive within a couple of days. I have also ordered the pump you mention it this vlog. Once the pump arrives sometime in September, hopefully, I will use it during the rest of the cooler weeks in my antipodean, Sydney, home. Once summer arrives, if the temperature increase during a long hot outing risks the popping of a valve I will use the pump to reduce and perhaps increase the pressure again later, during a long outing. My powerbank should be able to give the pump some more "juice" if needed. By the way, I have noticed in your vlogs when you are single handing your Intex Challenger K2, that you sit in the stern of the kayak. Have you tried sitting in the middle of the boat instead? If not, why not? (I am particularly interested in this issue as I am considerably heavier than you.) Thanks, Paul

There are only 2 positions for the seats to fix to. Front or back, I find the back gives more leg room going solo. Gear stored at the front to balance it out. Happy paddling!

Electronics are all standardised on usb. And we don’t have a million round socket chargers cluttering our homes. If only mattress makers could standardise on a valve standard we wouldn’t need all these adaptors.
@gizzyguzzi3 жыл бұрын
I ordered one of these before I saw this video. It seems it will not fully inflate a kayak. So that's a bummer. Will need to carry the big pump also, which was the hope. Oh well. It works for air mattresses.
@CampLifeBushcraft3 жыл бұрын
Not quite, but it saves 90% of the effort! That’s pretty good I reckon.

@@CampLifeBushcraft J I was hoping to ditch the giant hand pump needed for the kayak. I could have bought the smaller cheaper pump instead. Are you sure the small pump won't do just as well with the kayak? Maybe take an extra minute, but will still not fill it up, just like the big one won't fill it up?
@CampLifeBushcraft3 жыл бұрын
@@gizzyguzzi I tried with the smaller pump, it doesn’t have the power to get any air in a kayak. The motor is too puny.
