Thats not bad weather "thats normal" 😂 For anyone who wants to know, high willhays is not very far from civilization, it look worse than what it is, so many people walk there and back from Okehampton in tee shirts/shorts and trainers "i don't suggest you do that" as obviously the weather changes very quickly on Dartmoor but there is a military road and path almost all the way so not as difficult as many people make it out to be. From Okehampton railway station its about 1:45hr to 2:15hr walk one way so not too bad, its a bit of a climb but it's steady until the last bit.

Great to see a video with some real tent action! How would you say the 3 season full mesh inner fabric handles wind, does it let a lot through or does it block some? Was in windy inside your tent, that is? :D
@CampLifeBushcraft
@CampLifeBushcraft Күн бұрын
@roning1122 Thanks, mate. It seemed fine to me, I didn't notice much wind getting through. I had pitched it slightly lower to the ground as I didn't want any rain sneaking under. It felt like a fairly safe place to be.

Great video and a great team. Real tough time but you did it and what a welcome relief that cabin, take away & beer was. Good how you keep each other's moral up. Looking forward to the third chapter.👏👏

G'day Dan, Warren, even with the good kit, you likely end up wet over that period of time ....... yep, .... minor detail Warren ; ) Good to hear Muddy Paws and Wild Camper,...... you know, ... your "mates" .... are so "supportive" ...... I wouldn't expect anything less ; ) I'd say the sheep turned out to be a blessing in disguise, ....... a lamb curry, pehraps an Indian Pale Ale, by chance ; ) Anyway, .... and seriously, "Keep your pecker up" fellas !!!!!!! I really hope that you finish this. It's so much more of a challenge when you're not someone who walks these distances regularly. The pain is pretty bad doesn't it. I'm walking an ultra challenge from Eastbourne to Arundel in 2wks 100km. I'm not fit and kind of dreading it lol the only solace is that I completed the IOW 106km a couple of years ago. I need to see you complete this to get me inspired buddy.

Filing toe nail with a stone set my teeth on edge but very sensible. A good mix of facts and humour. Good thinking to plan the miles in between pit stops, kept your peckers up. Well done both of you. You can do anything if you really want to ❤ Ps. Cabin was a God send plus takeaway. Well earned

Indian take-away, beer and blisters...excellent! After a grueling hike in wet conditions, I'm sure the small cabin was a welcome gift. 100 miles is no joke bro, lots of things can go wrong or right and many considerations moving forward. Take care of those blisters, thanks for this leg of the journey. See ya for the next one.

Just picked one up at the car boot sale for a fiver! Brand new, never used. Couldn't understand why the stuff sack was big enough for two of them...this became apparent on deflation and rolling it back up...now it fits back in perfectly. Much bulkier than the UL80 but if you've got the space then those side panels mean you don't roll off, the pillow is well handy and it's oh, so quiet when you turn over. I did a stopwatch of 3min33secs and 101 pumps of the foot. Great for side & back sleeping.
