It probably comes as no surprise that there are one time fee only versions of this type of application (~$300) that you install as an add-in to your client’s website then simply fill in some forms to auto-generate the estimate range. Not as sophisticated as this with its calendar, leads review, etc but zero monthly, zero per lead and zero setup cost; only one time. On another note if you’re normally driving traffic to a lead capture page and now considering driving it to this configurator page you need to split test how much more the client pays you for the higher quality and how much greater the “traffic to lead signup rate” is but then deduct the monthly and per lead costs of this application, versus doing what you normally do running to your own lead capture page or quiz funnel. If you’re getting $50 a lead but paying $25 on average to Facebook you’re doing pretty well. If you now have to pay $20+ Per lead for the configurator plus a monthly the campaign will start to look not worth it. Only split testing can tell you whether using this for paid traffic makes any sense. I like the idea where the client is paying for the configurator to capture leads from their own organic traffic, so substituting paid ads cost with the cost of this application. I don’t like losing the opportunity to build one’s own lead gen brand since driving traffic to the client’s website configurator page will prevent you from sending that same paid traffic to lead gen domains you own.
