The G minor fugue seems to be based directly on Shostakovich's Concertino for Two Pianos, and it's even got some fairly direct quotes in it. Very nice!

Очень недооцененная вещь. Одновременно и простые мелодии типа советских песен, но как развиваются в прелюдия, как сплетаются в фугах, какой мощи достигают типа богатырские ворот Мусоргского или Рахманинова, вре менами похоже на Шостаковича

Он хороший мелодист, простые мелодии развиваются, достигая большой мощи. Необычно в конце фуги появляется тема прелюдия. Хотя мне кажется, фуги не совсем по канону, обычно аккорды только при слиянии мелодий, а тут кое-где появляются сами по себе
