The MAD MAX blu-ray is very gritty.....meaning that there is a lot of dirt and spots on the transfer. Don't be surprised if the quality isn't good

I did like the alternative opening to the film with the multiple engineers, it really solidified the fact that the Engineer's death was a ritual and a sacrifice. But I think i prefer the opening in the theatrical release. It's more mysterious and the image of the lone Engineer was a lot more compelling, imho.

It's not bad writing. Imagine you're a biologist. You're on an alien planet, and have just discovered a new species. Perhaps the first sign of still living alien life ever found. That's a major discovery, and it's reasonable to believe that his excitement over such a find would override his sense of caution. Second, it was a small creature. It appeared aggressive, but he was wearing a protective suit. There's no way he could have guessed it could be capable of such devastation.

One of the characters freak out when he sees an alien that's been dead for 10,000 years, and basically runs away in fear, BUT when a live alien penis pops out of nowhere and hisses like Hell, all of a sudden he's like "Arh, it's beautiful" while shoving his face inside of it. That's not human, that's bad writing. Awfully written movie with a ton of plotholes and basic stuff that's never explained. I could go on and on, but as I wrote, Spoony said it the best.

Most of the complaints I've heard about Prometheus are very nitpicky. I enjoyed it immensely. Yeah, some characters make dumb mistakes, but to me that only shows that they're human. We're all prone to making dumb mistakes.

The best? Really? The first half of the year wasn't that great, but several movies have come out lately that have kicked everything's ass. Argo, Sinister, Frankenweenie, and Seven Psychopaths have all been MUCH better overall than Prometheus. It's actually my least favorite movie of the year. I even find it worse than Night of the Living Dead 3D: Re-Animation, and that was terrible. I suggest you search 'Spoony Prometheus review' for a clearer picture of how bad it is. It's very funny :-)

Dude, this isn't "The Tree of Life" or "The Fountain", it's a dumb alien sci-fi horror movie which thought it was saying something profound and original about religion in which it didn't. It tried but failed miserably because it didn't stick to its own mythology and constantly changed the rules. Just another Texas Chainsaw Massacre in space. Nothing special
