I may have to amend this once I have watched the whole video, but I honestly don't think Dredd is 'long forgotten' at all--at least not by 2000AD readers! We have been demanding another one by the same people since pretty much the day after it was announced there wouldn't be one!!! I have also read that Urban would be totally up to return as he is very passionate about the character. It is significant that as a film it was better than many of the latter-day strips!!!

I haven't written in a while, but I've been watching as always. This is a great list, I've got a few years on you and have always been a cinema freak, but you, DVD always manage to bring on great suggestions of movies I missed or am ready to watch again. Though we have some differences in taste, DVD, you know your stuff. Thank you for at least trying to turn your audience on to older genres, like film noir and other classics from the golden age of Hollywood and onward & upward to subtitles. I can't believe I let myself miss "What About Bob?" I can't wait to watch Miniscule, Unstoppable, Tell No One, and Tropical Thunder. I also appreciate that you always give the directors their due. I can't wait to see a new (to me) Tony Scott and and Wes Anderson flick. The films are the realization of the directors' visions. Knowing who they are will find you more great films. BTW, please keep the list of movies leaving Netflix, it's has saved me from missing some good stuff. Adios, amigo.

My man Darren, I cannot possibly express how goody, happy I was when you named “Dredd” as a sleeper, amazing movie! You are sooooo RIGHT, my good man‼️ Let me start with THE Karl Urban! Among the MOST UNDER RATED and UNDERUTILIZED 🙆🏻♂️Actors working today. For reasons that defy logic, Hollywood has labeled Karl Urban, one the Most Consistent and lPhenomenally TALENTED Actors worming today. He carried “Dredd” with just how he embodied the comic iteration of Judge Dredd. His intonation went along way in defying his charter. Since THE Judge Dredd NEVER takes his helmet off, Karl Urban Kept his on. Yet, with only his chin, lips, mouth; he not only further defined the character, but brought life into it, with a spectrum of emotions. Absolutely incredible. If that was not enough, Karl Urban portrayed ‘Terminator’ level determination, even compassion. For me, suspending disbelief is difficult. Sometimes it is a weak script, ineffective actor, but I was ALL IN With “Dredd”. The thing that bothers me, is that Karl Urban has been pigeon holed as character actor or even second fiddle to the lead. A criminal underrating of his taken and gifts as an actor. Olivia Thirlby far exceeded my exceptions. She isn’t great yet, but just might be. She certainly OWNED the Psychic ‘Anderson’. Anderson being psychic was and interesting plot twist that fulfilled and brought to life brilliantly. The fear she did express was to be expected, but once she played it strong, confident and able to process quickly and think on her feet, very nice. Then there was queen Lena Headly, as ALWAYS, man o man, did she deliver. I’ve in her veins. Confidence for millennia, definitely a functional psychopathic personality, and a genius. Ma-Ma the baddest badass female since ‘Ripley’, only more so. I loved that her character saw some of herself in Anderson, then told her muscle not to touch her, violate her nor abuse her. She is connected to what happened to her as a child. NO RAPING IR VIOLATING WOMAN or you WILL eat dirt‼️ BRILLIANT‼️💯✊🏼🙆🏻♂️🙏🏼🎥📽🥃

Nice line up. That said, there is a glaring correction that needs to be looking at in more detail :) Essentialy regarding the very dark humour outlined brilliantly in the film you feature about 14 minutes in called "What About Bob". The writer specifically indicates that this film is about a narcissistic sociopath (played amazingly by Bill Murray) who taunts and terrorises his psychoanalyst played well by Richard Dreyfuss. The sociopath drives this poor man to near insanity toward the end, and its amazing how he ("Bob") calculates and manipulates literally every one in the film from Betty the phone operator, to Dr Marvins actually family members themselves even Dr Marvins sister! Playing "Mr Innocent" the whole way along. Stunning. So his (Bob's) character is akin to a sort of "termite" to the house of Dr Marvin, which collapses from within, essentially because Murray (the destroyer) manages to slither his way in to Dr Marvins world his life even his vacation home. Almost at his wits end, the doctor signs his patient into a facility for such a person as Bob. However. Even the very sanitarium that the doctor enlists his patient in, the staff and others there are swiftly under the spell and then charmed by "Bob" after all many sociopaths are highly charming and are known to have very little trepidation or anxiety whatsoever and can come across as a confident regular even fun person to be around. Bob manages to get in great with everyone in the building! Its sort of funny, but if you watch a few times you can see the life of the doctor being systematically destroyed by Bob the termite, its of course VERY dark humour, and makes for a very entertaining film. Although it is VERY dark and quite creepy. If you truly comprehend the plot. Understandably many would interpret this plot incorrectly; however as many people are not strongly literate in deeply malignant personality disorders. That said, Nice line-up all in all. great list!

Bro! Dredd in my opinion is a perfect movie, and not only because I'm an original fan and know the universe very well, it's also visually stunning, well directed, paced and pretty much every other aspect not to mention the cast, where every character is perfect for the role, I loved Carl Urban as Dredd and Anderson is so beutiful! 😅 The reason because it didn't do well IMO is because of the marketing, or the lack of it, in many countries it wasn't even dubbed, and we all know how lazy people are with subtitles, so it appealed with long time fans, which being a niche couldn't possibly pull the right numbers needed for a commercial success, a real shame. And couldn't agree more with your overview on Minority Report, which I watched not too long oddly enough, a true master piece.
