Niko, Light of Hope deck tech for Magic: the Gathering Commander (EDH)! This deck will utilize both of Niko's abilities to their fullest potential; we'll be using a ton of flicker effects to re-trigger Niko's enter ability that makes shards, and once we have enough shards, we'll be turning them into creatures with powerful attack triggers to seal the game.

Love the deck tech! I feel like a lot of the lists I’ve seen just assume Niko is new Brago and build them as such. Glad to see you didn’t fall into that pitfall.

Thanks! Yeah, unfortunately the same cards for Brago don’t really work here, since Niko’s second ability doesn’t trigger ETBs on the copy. The deck does want flicker effects for Niko’s ETB, but you can’t really have too many Brago payoff cards or it won’t work out too well

@@CommandersSanctum No problem! I also do want to ask about the inclusion of opt, ponder, and treasure cruise. They're good cards, but they don't seem particularly useful for the decks gameplan.

Solely for extra card draw. Card draw is super important in decks, IMO, so I like to include as much as I can. As for why those cards.. honestly, I just tend to enjoy the one mana blue card draw spells like Ponder/Opt/Preordain, so tend to include them in most my decks. That’s more of just a bias on my part, pretty much any card draw effects that you prefer could easily be swapped in for those.
