It’s on purpose I think. They animate based on the mannerisms when the cast record their dialogue. So even if the character doesn’t physically look like their voice actor, they likely do things he/she would do. I think Belle tucks her hair aside because Paige O’Hara did too.

There is a live action version in the works. Along with an animated sequel Moana 2. But Aulii won't be doing the live action version because she has been ridiculed into believing her skin tone is not dark enough. And she doesn't accurately represent the character / culture of Moana. This comes from our current culture. They have her believing this. Not sure if she is doing the animated Moana 2 even. A lot of this current culture stuff has gone too far.

Yeah man, I really really like her, not least of all because the entire movie is about the culture she grew up with. Being able to sing her own songs as well is just the crowning glory.
