I binged Season 3 in 7 and a half hours as soon as it came out. (I said to myself I would only watch 3 episodes but I couldn't stop 😂). My theory is that hopper either got captured by the Russians, right before the explosion, or he entered the upside down world. Either way, he has to come back!!!

As for the identity of that prisoner, it could be Jim Hopper. While much was made of his death, we never actually saw him disintegrate when the machine was destroyed. We saw other Russian scientists explode into dust, but not Hopper. Now why would the series notshow his death if he was really, truly dead? So he was either quickly escorted out by the Russians, or he somehow slipped through the gate into the Upside Down before the machine exploded. The latter is my best guess, as it then sets up a Stranger Things 4 in which Eleven and the gang have to find a way to re-open the gate to get Hopper out, setting up a big confrontation with the actual Mind Flayer

When Alexi won that plush, that smile melted my god dang cold, soulless heart. But when he saw Arnold Schwarzenegger his warm smile faded away into a petrified look. And when he shot him I just cried and screamed eternally. And when hopper nodded to Joyce to turn the keys with that smile. It got me deep inside my heart. Overall it was a really good series that makes you have a connection with the characters 10/10

Honestly like for real I never cried over a show in a long time. But when Hopper looked at Joyce with that smile and Joyce pulled the keys, my heart literally broke. Cut to when Joyce returned and was hugging Will, El searching for Hopper and when El reads the note from Hopper at the end, it was a total breakdown for me. Like I could literally feel the emotions. P.S too many sad things happened. I was like season 2 already took away Bob and now Hopper really? Hell no!! The end credits gave me hope though thankfully. Also, I wish Billy could survive just to see him and Mrs Wheeler together. Alexie's death was pretty sad too! He was such a sweet fella!

Hopper tells the Russian “see you in hell”, before throwing him into the machine. Later, we see a sign that says welcome to Hawkins, with “Hawkins” replaced by A graffitied “Hell”. I saw this is interesting seeing that Hopper didn’t strike me as the type of guy that would say that phrase, regardless of the stressful situation. Also, the cast has said that there should be a season 4, to really close the series. Hinting that they need to get back to upside-down to get Hopper. Beside Hopper's supposed death, there is nothing to really make another season worth it. And I also don't think that Joyce is THAT unlucky to lose both Bob and Hopper, so there has to be a good ending for her. Poor woman has been through more than any other character.

In the beginning of season three when the RussiaN general kill one of scientists on that underground lab he leave there and there is camp with a helicopter and is snowing which mean there is a way from that lab to Russia thats why when American reinforcements arrive they find no Russians soldier, hopper either found that door himself or the Russians saw him unconscious with the uniform and “no comrade left behind”

I'm not sure it's only the Mind Flayer that drained El's powers. I think it could be a mix of things... here's a few theories I have: 1. The most obvious: The possessed Billy physically did something to her to block her powers. El could now be a carrier of the Upside Down virus… or a kind of virus. However, months after the events of the climax of Season 3 (The Battle of Starcourt) El showed no physical signs of infection… unlike Will, whom we saw display signs of infection at the end of Season 1. 2. An energy drain. From jumpstreet in Season 1, we have seen El use her powers almost constantly, and it was established that she had to rest every time she used them to recharge her energy stores or batteries. Now El used her powers even more without rest than at any other point in the series in Season 3. It could be that her powers are just drained and will need a long time to recharge. 3. A mental block. El is a damaged person. She has a lot of demons in her past… a lot of issues and things that pain her. I believe that it is possible that she feels a kind of guilt for opening the gate in the first place. She feels responsible for causing everything and therefore she feels responsible for all the pain that has been endured by the people she cares for. Now, at one point I believe El thought herself invincible. Her powers were a kind of shield that could protect her and her friends. But that summer Billy handed her her ass twice. Once at the pool in the spa and of course, at the battle of Starcourt. This must’ve been very frightening for El who is still a little girl. You heard her whimper and beg for her life and plead with Billy at the spa when he was choking the life out of her. I think that traumatized her to the point that she started to perhaps doubt herself. Then at the Battle of Starcourt when the battle turned more difficult and she proved inadequate to stop Billy and the Mind Flayer, I think it’s possible that a combination of everything… the overuse of her powers, to being beaten, to almost losing Mike and the others to death and the Mind Flayer ON TOP of all of her past pains and guilt AND now the loss of Hopper has created a mental block… she has created a blockage in her mind that is keeping her from using her powers. El is going to have to get her mind straight in order to use her powers again. I have no doubt that El wants her powers back. But she’s going to have to work to get them back. She’s going to have to set to rest a lot of the demons from her past, heal from the loss of Hopper and get over the guilt of everything that happened. And perhaps, reuniting with her beloved Mike will also help her regain her powers. Because Mike has proved capable of bringing out powerful bursts of her powers when she’s had to protect him.

Makes no sense. Brenner is a smart man and usefull asset. The Sovjets would not throw him in a cell like any ordinary thug or refer to him simply as "the American". but in the post credit scene the russians dont get the american to feed to the demogorgan. also, the gate couldnt have closed properly because the russians went into the upside down to get the demogorgan, meaning that the russians could have gotten hopper while they were in the upside down, making hopper ‘the american’
