Looking very much like the real deal this simple pattern can often be a godsend when after actively feeding grayling and trout. On rivers or stillwater it's an effective fly to have in your armoury! Intro music www.bendsound.com

One of the best instructional scud vids i have seen , very realistic , yet in a way super simple to tie , thank you for showing , all the best , David .

Really like the slimmer proportions and natural look of this tie ...unweighted makes sense too as a dropper above a heavier point fly/nymph...look forward to tying some up and trying them for river grayling in autumn/winter ....thanks for sharing

Steve I used to tie a really basic shrimp or Scud pattern with a fuzzy body and an Olive Deer hair shell back. The thing worked. Then I got into lakes with smarter fish and learned to tie a shrimp something like this and immediately produced more fish. I will give this one a try as well, thank you, a great video!

I go to the shop and tell the girls there I need something to match my eyes! Then I buy Orange! They can't tell if I'm actually using it for me so they don't know how to react! I let them off finally and we all laughed!

That dubbing comes in a Freshwater shrimp colour as well , which is pretty close to the gammarus I find when I am doing kick sampling.
