Excellent job reacting to that situation calmly and talking yourself back to the ground. The startle factor is what gets people, especially close to the ground, and you handled it perfectly.

Thanks so Much. I give all the glory to God! I am just the co-pilot!

Very nice calm reaction, well done. We can all only hope we react similarly in the event of a problem. Think about a before takeoff checklist or a more rigorous flow check each time you’re entering a runway for departure. Stay safe!

@@EricEsser Eric I couldn’t agree more! Untouching goes or anytime i’m doing a takeoff. I will have my checklist out that was a lesson learned for sure. I was checking the fuel pressure gauge because I had issues with it which I corrected and turned off the fuel pump, but didn’t turn it back on, and that would’ve been caught with a checklist. Thank you for watching and thank you for your comments. Much appreciated.

Nice job. I would suggest being a little more kind to your engine and not ramming the throttle open like that - take some time to go from idle to full power.
@fpvflyby6855Ай бұрын
@@ScottsSynthStuff you need the power to gain rudder authority, completely different than flying a trike
@ScottsSynthStuffАй бұрын
@fpvflyby6855 I understand that. The point is not that you need the power and airflow over the tail, it's the rapid acceleration of engine from low RPM: it is stressful on the crankshaft, gearbox and other components. Just hold the brakes at the threshold, then slowly increase throttle over the course of 5 or 6 seconds before brake release. Your engine will thank you.

You clearly do not know how to fly an RV-12

Does your fuel pump switch turn off both pumps? I thought there were 2 pumps one for redundancy. Being a newbie I understood it would run on one pump.
@fpvflyby6855Ай бұрын
@@vansrv12is30 Hi no it does not turn off both. The Rotax 912 ULS has a mechanical fuel pump as well. The electric fuel pump is used, typically on takeoff and landings and climb out.
@fpvflyby6855Ай бұрын
My aircraft has a separate switch for the electric fuel pump. Most I’ve seen do not have this switch. They have a fuse as mine has a fuse as well along with a switch.
@vansrv12is30Ай бұрын
@@fpvflyby6855 Thanks for responding. I fly 2 RV12 ULS we always have both fuel pumps running all the time. We just have a fuse to pull. I have read somewhere that it could be a false economy to turn off one fuel pump. Be safe my friend.
