Graveyard usually implies a burial ground within a churchyard, and cemetery is land used as burial grounds minus the church. I think I got that right lol

I visited the memorial almost 5 years ago and we spent 5 hours there. Like you said, the feeling you get being there is indescribable and very very heavy! It’s very emotional but beautiful in the same sense. I understand why you didn’t do the museum, but I honestly think everyone should do it. It’s not easy on the heart. And you have to be mentally prepared for it. Especially if you were old enough to witness it live & remember the affect it had on us all. But if you are gonna visit the memorial, the museum is also a must. I recommend doing the outdoor guided tour as well. They explain how and why they built the memorial the way they did. Like the waterfall is so when you stand next to it all the sounds of the water drain out the noise of the city and all you hear is water, a way of giving a moment of silence for those lost. Also I’m sure you see roses on some names. When you see that, it means it’s their birthday that day. Also, the way the names are placed are for meaningful adjacencies. There were so many people who were tied to one another w/o even knowing it. Crazy coincidences that they never knew. And where the lines of trees are around the waterfalls, is the actual layout of the original buildings. They also talk about stories and heros, ones I’ve never heard before. And when I say I know A LOT about 9/11, I mean it. Can’t even tell you the amount of hours and months I’ve spent watching every possible documentary on it.

Kat, I cant thank you enough for showing honor and respect for those lives lost that day on 9/11. Fortunately, I didnt loose anyone on that tragic day, but I am a Proud Native New Yorker and I can begin to explain the pain and trama caused by the attacks on our country that day. 21 years later I still cautiously follow a plane if it passes too low in attitude over our city. I still have a heavy heart if I'm in lower Manhattan and dont see the Twin Towers. Thank you for honoring those lives lost and thank you so much for showing so respect when visiting the site. 🙏🏼❤

I had the same undescribable reaction to the memorial. Went to NJ for work and went into the city. I expected it to be somber and humbling but I was physically emotional. I was at UNT in Denton on 9/11 just entering adulthood. Visiting is something I'll never forget either.

Visiting the museum is definitely overwhelming. Every time I visit it because I do motor coach tours on the east coast I’ve been there several times and each time I visit I come out bummed and stressed. They even have a visual section dedicated to the jumpers coming off the building.

I felt the same way when I went to the pulse nightclub memorial in Orlando. I was supposed to be there the night the shooting happened and thankfully didn’t. I walked up to the memorial and just cried for 30 minutes. It was hard just being there.

I understand how you felt at the memorial. My husband and I went and we had bickered about something dumb that morning. When we got to the memorial we were just drawn together- no need to say sorry. We did go to the museum as well. It’s…more of the same feeling. Some parts are just powerful and they take all the tears. But at the same time- it’s a privilege and an honor to be there. ♥️

In cold weather, I find a scarf has become a must have. It's crazy if you don't have it, how cold your neck gets! I don't know if you have one that's part of your uniform or not. Or if you can wear your own with your uniform, but if you can, I really suggest trying one out (wool is great, a nice angora isn't so itchy if that bothers you!)

I grew up in NYC (I was 13 when 9/11 happened and I was in Manhattan that day, at school not too far away). I cannot go to that memorial without crying, it's very emotional. I'm glad you seemed to be respectful of the memorial and didn't put happy music or anything over it. Next time you go back to NY, I recommend seeing the museum as I think it's important. Also go to the "local's memorial" (this main one is now viewed as a tourist attraction) in Battery Park, it's where they moved the globe.

Seeing you visit the 9/11 memorial brought me to tears and sent shivers down my spine. I went with my choir group to New York for a week long trip (were from Windsor, Ontario, Canada), and we got to sing/honor the innocent lives that were taken at St. Paul's Chapel, which was the surviving church after the attacks. When we went the memorial was in the process of being built, and ever since, one of my vacation goals is to be able to go to New York again and see the memorial in person ❤️🗽

I stayed at the Millennium Hilton, across from the WTC just two months before 9/11. I remember looking out on that famous globe Took a ride up the elevators to Windows on the World restaurant. My parents thought it was too expensive so we didn’t eat there. But the staff was so nice, letting us check out the views 💔 To think how many of those nice people perished on 9/11 😪

The term graveyard are burial grounds located at a church. Those buried there are usually church members of that church. A cemetery is not affiliated with a church. Graveyards are usually limited in size due to land limitations of a church where cemeteries are typically larger.

We have the fallen firefighters memorial here at Colorado Springs, it’s on the northwest corner of Memorial Park. There’s an annual commemoration of the previous year’s fallen firefighters and their names are etched on a wall. The 2001 ceremony took place four or five days after 9/11, and a couple thousand showed up. By the following year’s ceremony (2002), that was the year the 9/11 firefighters names were memorialized and put in stone; the estimated crowd was 35,000 people and all local TV stations carried it live…a somber experience indeed…

Anything 9/11 makes me cry immediately. I was working for an airline at the time. All that happened that day feels like yesterday. We worked other airlines flights because they were made to land at airports they didn't service. The flight crews had no idea what had happened when they landed. It was something people who weren't there will never understand.

I haven't finished this video just yet. However I need to pause here. As I feel the sense of how you may feel. I have done the museum with my little girl. There are no words on earth to describe it. I have chills running down my spine right now. The day we visited there was a detective from the area we are from. He was giving a speech (for lack of a better word sorry). What I heard that day will never leave my mind. The images that were described are forever inscribed in my memory. My daughter was not alive when 911 happened and I wanted her to understand what 911 really is and what happened that horrible day in our history. But no matter what I now believe it is an experience every American should do in there life. I highly recommend doing it with your family as it is better to do with support. I hope one day you will find the courage to go. It is raw and I do mean raw. But I feel like I honored the people of that day by remembering what they sacrificed for America. Their heroism and bravery. And by remembering these beautiful people they will never be forgotten.

Nice to see you in my neighborhood for a change. Occulus is on my to-do list someday... not a high priority. You should have just caught a cab on 8th Avenue side of Penn. The memorial is very somber, especially for a New Yorker. That's one thing out-of-towners tend to misjudge - how long it takes to get downtown and how long it takes to actually see something. Check out the Vessel next time.

Hi Kat I love all your videos and watch them ALL. 2 years ago ( right before COVID) I received my CJO with the same airline you are with - I personally thanked you because I learned everything FROM YOU - ❤️ I did get my CJO for language of destination flight attendant trainee, and sadly I failed the language test! I was so bummed out, Ive been to other carrier interviews ( United and Emirates ( I made it to the final round for Emirates Open Day in Dallas and NO ONE was selected). I am extremely persistent and reapplied to my dream airline and I have been selected for the virtual online group interview - my interview is in 2 days so I am doing a refresher and going over everything once again. I am so not familiar with the virtual online group interview, but it is equivalent to the face to face. Some last minute tips please!!! I am so excited, not nervous but I want this so very badly. Traditionally, a graveyard is always with a church and referring to that part of church's property. A cemetery doesn’t have to have a church. You could say all graveyards are cemeteries but not all cemeteries are graveyards.
