It is nice to see that at only 2.5 years seniority, you not only have the schedule you want, but you are also able to work multiple trips per month. I feel like this change is having the biggest impact on those FAs that joined the airline in the past year or are at smaller bases.

Yes, seniority will definitely play a big part. I still get turns awarded but not as many as I used to some time ago and as you probably seen on schedule videos, I always manage to give them away and pick up trips instead.

I started flying in 1982 and was retired by an in-flight injury in 2003. Only two of the airlines I flew for was I based at home in MCO. I don't know how many flight attendants at your airline commute, but man oh man that would be a deal-breaker. Strictly doing turns felt like a regular job to me and I hated it. Good luck to you, Will ❤

Hello! thank you for sharing with us. We do have a lot of commuters, and like you said, it would be a deal breaker for many. I don't mind working turns just not a full turn schedule, I do share the same thought that sometimes it feels like a regular 9-5 job. Have a great week!

I love my turns! I love sleeping in my own bed and not meal prepping and packing my bag every couple days. It’s so nice. 😅 I do love some trips but it’s exhausting sometimes! Pros and cons to all and for everyone. :)

Thank you for sharing! I have just got my March block today. Yes, there is always pros and cons. I think it is good to have a combination of everything and choices. Trips are fun and with per diem while turns are good for people attending school etc. As I am attending a night school for institutional and home care I bid two day trips departing on Saturday or three day trips returning base before 4PM on Monday. From Monday to Friday I will bid turns before returning to base before 4PM. Yes, I think airline should give their crew a choice. I am following and please give us a update when it is available. Thank you and happy flying!

Hello! Thank you for stopping by. See? having that flexibility is great and is the main reason why a lot of people join the airlines. Like you said, combination of both trips and turns so that employees can have a choice. Safe flying as always, and take care!

Thank you for your video here.😊😊 I am glad you shared some thoughts about flybg turns and a possible company reorganization of flying.😊 For me, I have a current senior F/A friend of my who flys turn now. And she, Stacey, is a grest person and she takes care of her Mother so, she with her 33 years of seniority can hold long-haul turns like Chicago - Vancouver. Or Chicago - Portland, Oregon. So, yes, there are a group of F/As who diwn turns. Back in the late 1980s and the early 1990s , my former company had United Express all up and down the east coast and west coast before having RJs aircraft flying. It was just 737-200sand 300s flying as Express Aircraft. Those were the days for those crews. And many of those crews loved the turnscto be able to come back home to cook dinner.😅 Well, that changed a little over last several years. There are those smaller RJs aircraft flying with those smaller regional airlines doing the major of those flights and feeding into us remaing legacy airlines. Yes, that "Spoke and Wheel" term of our industry.

Also, for me, when I use to bid for my trips, as I was come off of "reserve" as I got more senior about the 3 years mark and with my Purser rank, I held more layover trips to the west coast because I wanted the flight time for pay and per diem!!! I agree with you. The "per diem" on the layover trips add up!! And that is very nice in our industry. The same thing happens with Federal government employees who travel. They get their calculated amounts. Years ago, I had meant many Dept. Of Transportation staff flying and they wanted to be nice and talk. Andcthey told me yes they get their of "per diem" as well. Another thing about our airline job is that, sometimes you get really nice people that don't mind talking and giving those business cards. And that they, those nice passengers, will start to inform and educate in their conversations about their different career fields. That was nice fir me!😊 Furthermore, yes, mergers and acquisitions "MA"s can be crazy in our industry. One of my Uncles worked fir USAir Airlines years before they merged with

Sorry!! Yes, as I was saying, one of my Uncles was with USAir Airlines before they merged. But Orland, back was an opening up base for them. My uncle was a ticket and gate agent. So, with his base movement he became a supervisor and later on became a manager. The merger happened and he did not want to stay. So, he took his 25 years of seniority and retired. Along with that he had worked here in Chicago at other big companies but he wanted that "travel benefit" that we all like!!!!😅 Yes, you will see what you want to do in the future!! You will but for today, Monday, 2/19, you are a cool and mice Flight Attendant. A cool career with some cool benefits that are nice!!😊 For me, I am glad I got a chance to work for a cool airline. Yes, the ups and downs we went through but it was nice working for United Airlines. I was based where I lived and for me I loved that!! I started back in 1999. And yes I saw that and felt that terrible September 11, 2001 incident. From that, it took us a week before we started flying again with almost now public flying. I was flying our 747-400s with about only a 100 people onboard for a few weeks. Also, at that time to, fly the 777s with about 75 to 100 aboard. It was scary back then but we healed and got through that incident the best that we could. And the rest in history when we filled for bankruptcy and reducing flying by the company giving 1 or 2 or 3 months off while keeping your seniority but reducing labor costs and other things to survive the airline industry.😊 This is all in history now!!😊😊 We use to have the "Ted" service that was trying to compete with Southwest Airlines which was a nice marketing strategy. It lasted for about 2 or 3 years then that ended. Well, you are seeing history currently in the industry.😊 Potential other mergers such as Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines!! We will see how that goes!😮😮 But you said that you do like flying!! So, stay with this career for now!! Later on who knows you may want to become a Pilot.😅 And still love traveling while learning that career.😅 Plus, the pilots make more money than we Flight Attendants as the years of seniority goes by. But satisfying yourself first is the most important thing for you!!😊 Keep flying!!!😊
