Then I realized when I was done home brewing I would be where monstertech was 10 years ago. So I ordered the mfc-3 center stick setup and the wait begins. Also, shipping, yikes! I've had their first iteration of this chair (Blackbird) for 6+ months now, and it still holds up. Feels like sitting on a cloud. Easily more comfortable than any other gaming chair I've ever had.

Isn't the stick location in the middle because back in the old days, mechanically it needed to be in the center, but now many fighters have sticks on the right side when they're fly-by-wire (F-16, F-22, F-35, Rafale) as it's more ergonomic? And while some newer fighters sometimes do place the stick in the middle when mechanically unnecessary, that's because it's just how older fighters did it?

Stick location in the middle is also more convenient for use by either hand. And with mechanical controls it might sometimes be useful to use both hands at once when extra strength is needed.

I'm quite interested to know your thoughts on the T-50CM2 versus the Warbird for a centre chair mount position. Throughout your video you showed a full range of both bases and the T-50CM2 with an extension. I already have the Monstertech chair mounts but I find I want the stick centered rather than to the side. Based on your experience with all three bases what do you prefer for DCS flying?

The cheaper warbird grip is a direct copy of a utility group that the Americans used to use. For a helicopter that doesn’t require very much button on the grip it’s actually closer to reality

I am concerned with cable management when mounting to a chair. There needs to be at least one USB cable between the chair and wherever your PC happens to be. Doesn't this introduce a tripping hazard? After all, getting entangled in the audio cable one too many times made me switch to a wireless headset. I'd hate to lose my newfound freedom again, as I am a very dynamic sitter, or Zappelphilipp as we say in Germany.

Man, this chair is obviously the very best alternative to a fully framed sim pit out there. But at nearly $900!? That's hard to justify against several sim pit frames, or simply DIYing one from 80/20 aluminum. You mention its ease of use for "casual" simmers, but I'd suspect that price tag puts it way out of range for that market.

Price range is relative to disposable income though. The chair also does not require “ Universal Chair Mount v2 “ to work as all of those parts are designed into the base. To the chair if you take that into account is $300 a better value already. People are always free to build their own, it’s been like this since 2015 when I did the first review for their desk mounts. People do say, bah, it’s overpriced and I can build it for less. All of this I just comes down to personal threshold. To some people, 900$ is nothing when they know they don’t need to design something, because someone else already built it better. Anyway, you should still enter the contest.. who knows. Might be a zero dollar chair for you.

Can please show in a video the recline features? How far back does it go? Does the seat tilt too or just the back and makes you slide out? Adjusting the chair; does it make any difference to be able to reach the sticks? I won’t be making a special video on reclining. I think that nobody is reviewing that specifically as it makes no sense to lie down and play games. You wouldn’t be able to see the monitor. It goes basically 60degrees flat.

Not many people lie down and game, but a lot of people want to lean back and inch if it feels too upright. It’s not even mentioned. A LOT of people use their chairs for office work and lean back and take phone calls or watch CBTs. Most cars aren’t driven with the seat laid down but not straight up in one factory setting, but a healthy mix of lean, hight, lumbar, tilt of the bottom part of the seat, etc. so if you won’t do a review, can you please reply what adjustments you get and which one can be locked and such?
