It's not really much 6DoF. It's pretty much like flying a jet. Roll and pitch. Basically no strafe at all.

Lag your eyes are on the target, leads your eyes are on the solution, ones prediction based the other is reaction based

He's using head tracking to look around, and then using joysticks to control his ship. I don't think it's possible to do what you're asking.

Not sure exactly what mine is but I have it turned off by default and then hold to enable. On mouse is had it on hold RMB and now on sticks I have it on hold on my left movement stick. Just hold it enabled when you want to use it
