Flight Controller Won't Connect To Betaflight |Troubleshooting Series | Matek F405

Hey Pilot's! This Matek F405-CTR is not turning on when we connect the Micro USB, We are going to trouble shoot it together and see if we can fix it.

You can use an external Micro USB and solder it manually to connect betaflight to your board for changes if it suits you. I do not prefer this method, I rather use the FC for donor parts.

Totally Fixable!!! Remove lacquer using fiberglass brush (or some kind of scraper) and solder a wire to the track and the connector.... I'd suggest using solder paste and and hot air.. Have a Great Day!!

You can scratch the trace and solder a thin jumper to the connector, lifted pads can be fixed if the trace is intact.

I loved this video! I did'nt realize that you are such a perfectionist- not in a bad way. I personally was having real trouble keeping my builds clean and was inspired by your professionalism and approach to builds. ( could be a new series for you-cleaning quads...) Thanks Drainman! as others have mentioned is excavating some copper and wiring to there. also wiring a bluetooth/wifi receiver would be an option.

Only the power trace was damaged if you power it with a battery it will still connect to a computer.

Hi Drainman… I’m sending you my 16x16 Flywoo flight controller stack that has power because it lights solid red when connected to USB. Won’t connect to Betaflight. Tried Zadig and Impilse RC driver fixer, and new USB cable and nothing happens… I hope to see it on your channel for the repair attempt. I’m hoping to put in in my 3 inch build… Thanks! I swear it’s not abused like this one you worked on.

Hey buddy. After flashing my firmware to the most recent STM32F405 target available, my pc now isn’t recognising my FC usb drive. My FC has two solid red leds lighting up when connected but i cant workout why its now unrecognised by my PC. Any help would be great! Thanks

Couldn’t you flood that area to make a new pad I’ve had pads rip off as long as that copper lead is showing add some solder to it It’s not good as new but it’s works

Kinda disappointed that you didn't fix this when it doesn't seem too difficult. Feel like you could've either fixed the pad or soldered a jumper wire from the USB 5v to the diode and have a perfectly working board.

What a waste of a board... You throw that USB connector back on and trace the path from the pad and run a jumper wire.

I can replace a pad or repair a trace no problem. You can totally scab in a new pad from a donor PCB.
