45:26 NY Excuse is a song by Soulwax released in 2005 on PIAS records. It does contain however a sample of Funkytown as performed by Lipps, Inc in 1979. So in my opinion it's wrong to use the song in this decade compilation. Nevertheless, nice mix.

I would say house, bus really this is just a mashup of all different songs and genres. This really doesn't fit in a genre. If you want to categorize it I would say that you should use that it is mixes of certain points of time, and not genre.

As someone who grew up with these tracks, my social circle referred to this era, as 'rare groove', or 'boogie'. Of course, these tracks span funk, soul, hip-hop, electro and disco (common to the era). The 'edit' on each track sticks to a more swing/groove beat (imo), which is common in most rare-groove/boogie mixes.
