@@PhoenixYTBE that was my first time landing there. Next time I’ll plan to be there on a day the restaurant is open. I’ve heard it’s worth stopping for.

Good day to you. You’re the first Canadian I have encounter watching aviation vlogs. I live in the Edmundston area of NB. Safe flying to you.

@@johnw1506 glad you enjoyed that video. We’ve got lots more airborne fun planned, so stay tuned for more cool flights.

Another great flight; one that I wish that I had had a chance to do. I grew up near Bromont QC and lived an hour from Moncton for 16 years. But I only flew around the London ON area. So, this was a treat. Thank you!

Glad you enjoyed it. We live in the London area, so it was a treat for us, flying in the Bromont to Moncton areas as well. We’ve flown down east before, but have never landed in Bromont. I love seeing new airports and destinations.

Does QC ATC and pilots only speak in French? I speak French and I can barely make out what they’re saying. That can be dangerous.

Quebec is the only place in Canada where you can speak French on an aviation radio. All Air Traffic Controllers in Quebec and surrounding areas (Ottawa) are bilingual and somehow keep track of which aircraft to speak English to and which planes to speak French to. In controlled airspace, you can trust that the controllers will keep you from banging into each other up there. In airspace where you aren’t required to speak to ATC, or choose not to speak to them, it’s up to the pilots to maintain separation from other aircraft. At an Uncontrolled field in Quebec, such as Bromont, you get the craziness that you heard. I was literally the only airplane speaking English out of about 4 or 5 in the airport area. At uncontrolled aerodromes, I think it’s crazy, but it’s not even a requirement to have an aviation radio and transmit your position to other aircraft. I just treated it as though I know there are aircraft in the circuit and I treat it as though they are all Nordo (No Radio) so my head is on a swivel. In reality, from working at an uncontrolled airport, I’d say less than 1% of aircraft are Nordo. I don’t feel it’s the safest way to do things, but changing the rules isn’t within my power. 🤷♂️
