I have been using one of these for quite a while. I like it, but the covering on the metal tabs on the bottom started to come off almost immediately. I had to cover the tabs with electrical tape to protect my iPad. Also, the velcro pile side on the leg strap seems to be fraying a bit. That said, it is a very good iPad knee board.

I am an aspiring student pilot, and I live over in the Samsung camp. It seems like I hear a lot of hubbub about the iPad being used, I'm wondering if my Samsung tablet is going to be compatible to use in the cockpit.?

Yes - there some good Android apps for pilots and these kneeboards work well with most Samsung tablets.
