I've gotten requests for some very difficult songs (Yngwie!), and to pull those off, I need to get faster! This has been a go-to practise song for over a year now - it's been helping me dramatically improve my speed. I'm more of a legato guy than a picker, but I'm getting there. Also, I decided to use my new PRS SE Tremonti for this one - it's quickly become one of my favourite guitars. Good luck with it! I hope it helps with your speed as much as it's helping me. 📣 Livestream coming soon for patrons! Stay tuned for that.

Now you need to do A Last Illusion by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The song starts off with Bumblebee, plays with the melody some, then transitions to Beethoven's Ode to Joy about halfway through. It's quite the journey.

Just work at it lil bits and then speed em up a bit etc. Wash rinse repeat. It will actually boost your performance on other songs even if you never nail it.

My guitar teacher played this _faster than the regular tempo_ at his audition for a music school. They told him after "There's nothing we can teach you." 😂 He insisted that he wanted to do it anyway as he wanted the music credentials (probably for teaching on a professional capacity. I never asked him) & they told him "Well, we can have you do classical style. You'd have to grow your finger nails out to pluck the strings & you can't use a pick." He accepted this arrangement & went to that school. I stopped taking lessons shortly after as he'd be going to school in fall (took lessons during summer).
