My auntie and uncle are from New Zealand, I am from Australia. I've heard them say "fush and chups". It's just different degrees in the accent more so than country-wide pronunciation. Like the same with Canada, a lot of people assume all Canadians say "about" as "aboot" when in fact they don't.

For Kiwi vs Aussie, I listen to 'e', 'a', and 'i'. For Canadian vs American, I listen to 'o' and 'ou'. It's not perfect, but it works most of the time.

Agh! Aspect ratio! It occurs to me that KZbin should really include some common aspect ratio translations among their video Enhancements to make it easy for people who aren't digital video experts to fix mangled videos like this one. They should even make the feature available to viewers rather than just video authors, to allow people like me who can't stand to watch squashed or stretched videos to "fix it in post" and to suggest to the uploader to make that particular aspect ratio fix permanent. I think I'll go suggest that to them. Good compilation, though, and thanks for including the Outback Steakhouse ad clip! I found the whole series on Ava Adore (AvaAdore025)'s channel (with quite low A/V quality, but at least with the correct aspect ratio), but I didn't know about the ads prior to seeing your video, so thank you very much for the tip-off. Funny that they presumably cast Jemanie in those ads not only because of his dry and humorous delivery, but also because most viewers would assume his accent was Australian.

that's the way most rivalries form. As an Australian, I have to say the NZ Govt is far fairer and principled than ours. They're flying all their WW2 RAF (UK) Bomber Command veterans to the opening of the Bomber Command Memorial in London (70 years too late), in honour of all the brave airmen who died flying bombing raids (brave men, regardless of the morals), on a RNZAF aeroplane. The Australian Govt is stingy and is only picking 8 of their veterans to take. Horrible testament to the men's bravery. Hats off to New Zealand
