I would like to thank Jeff Alender for this amazing opportunity! I've always loved the PC-12, so when this opportunity presented itself, I was ecstatic. I hope you enjoy taking a ride on one of the coolest turboprops around!

Landing distance over 50 ft obstacle (MLW/ no reverse) 2,170 ft 661 m - even grass/rough strips.......1/2 the fuel, 1/2 the maintenance of a King Air, lands at 80 knots MLW

Man, you have gotten "rides" in some awesome aircraft recently. The flight deck and landscape shots have been absolutely amazing. If one didn't know any better, the interior of this PC-12 looks like a jet. Such an awesome machine! Very awesome vid!!

Thank You for letting me ride along in through the video I'm. sure it was better experience being there. Love the view. and a cool plane I love different. planes ... I did for real land a small cessna type plane with a pilot ... he told me how to do things and I lined up with. runway and did my flare and touched. down. I will always have that experience of flying a airplane .... I was told I missed out on my calling to learning to fly like a pilot. .. I'm. a 53 yr. old lady who likes planes

Pilatus is VERY EXPENSIVE, even used ones. The new Cirrus SF50 is a single jet engine plane with a parachute. The ultimate in speed and comfort. But it doesn't have a bathroom like the Pilatus has, but that will cost you $2m extra.

Not sure I think much of setting take-off flap before reaching the threshold. Only needs a stone to be thrown back by the prop and you have a large bill.

Really enjoyed this video. Couple of questions if you don't mind: Not sure if it's the view or what but that flap sure does seem extremely long in comparison to overall wing length. Is it really that long and the aileron that short? Lastly, how was the cabin noise while at cruise? Thanks for posting and sharing.
@RyanBomar
@RyanBomar 9 жыл бұрын
I so glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching! The flaps do seem quite large, I noticed that as well. Here's a great under view of a PC-12 on final, the photo does a great job of showing the sheer size of the flaps: www.airliners.net/photo/Pilatus-PC-12-47E/2512330/L/&sid=d530eb93beede8033e4f4ef4643bc275 Cabin noise at cruise was on par with a Phenom, for example. Pretty low engine volume, I think the mic on the camera makes the aircraft seem noisier than it actually is.

Was he turning the plane with the Yoke while taxing. In my day they used to steer the plane with the rudder pedals.
@GarnetHarrier
@GarnetHarrier 7 жыл бұрын
He was using the rudder pedals to steer the nose wheel. Yoke movements are to make sure the wings stay level in crosswinds and wind gusts.

Not two pilots, but it is a turbine and as such it requires the appropriate ratings for its class and type
@garrettackerman8936
@garrettackerman8936 8 жыл бұрын
+Aviation Unlimited Negative. It's a turboprop, not a turbojet. No type rating necessary for the PC-12. Insurance, of course, is another story...

I'm amazed, and slightly agitated at the pilot for twice, once during takeoff roll and once on landing rollout, removing his hand from the throttle to do "other" tasks. Flying 101, especially during takeoff, hand on throttle at all times.
@diegoazcuy300
@diegoazcuy300 5 жыл бұрын
montkyle once you pass V1 you are committed to the takeoff. This isn’t a C172 where you usually take off and have 3000 feet of rwy left.

kind of unnerving to have one engine while it carried 8 people. all depend on one engine and that's it. if engine quits then you can only "glide" down to a certain crash landing or a real crash. 4 million dollar for 1 engine.. the same engine that power king airs, yet you get a pair in a king air it's kind of rip off. yes it can land in short distance but you cannot land in the same place as cessna 206 can land, you resign to land in the same airport that king air can also land, so what's the point?
@ctn830
@ctn830 8 жыл бұрын
+Putera Usman I agree. why have 1 engine for the money when you can have 2. I know its less maintenance costs but still.
@GarnetHarrier
@GarnetHarrier 8 жыл бұрын
+Putera Usman -- Many people think the way you do. Other people note that turbine engines have a wonderful reliability record and that a second engine doubles your costs while adding almost no useful load and very little additional speed. That's why, in the piston engine realm, singles dominate and twins are rare. Among airliners, the number of engines has shrunk from four to three to two for similar reasons, and two engines are allowed for overwater flights under a certification program called ETOPS (Engines Turn Or Passengers Swim).
@puterausman7682
@puterausman7682 8 жыл бұрын
John Schubert true, but the cost of purchasing one engine is more than the cost of purchasing two engine is hard to swallowed. if only Pilatus sell their aircraft at lower price than king air, then it would be a wonderful option.
@andrewm1058
@andrewm1058 8 жыл бұрын
+Putera Usman fuel consumption is also less on a single engine, also the pilatus has the ability to land on grass strips and shorter runways as for why it costs the same, no idea in theory the King Air should cost more agreed
@ctn830
@ctn830 8 жыл бұрын
+Andrew M if im buy a 1.5 million dollar plane i can afford they extra gas if i got a twin piston or turboprop
