Flight Simulator 2024 Tech Alpha - Amsterdam and changing Seasons

Hi folks. One last video I recorded last night flying around Amsterdam. It doesn't look like it is photogrammetry though. Near the end of video, I play around with the dates and season to change the leaves on trees and also how the wind interacts with them.
Graphics settings are all on Ultra. Turned off motion blur as I dislike that feature.
Computer specs:
1080 monitor (with a refresh rate of 60 and set sim to 50% refresh rate)
Intel i7-9700k (not overclocked)
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti
32 GB system RAM

If Microsoft decides to do another Alpha / Beta before release and I get access to it again, I'll be sure to cover more of the 2024 sim. I am open to suggestions of places to cover or features to explore. I tried "World Photographer" mode but I was confused on what I had to do there as I didn't see any instructions. 🤷‍♂ My personal opinion on the new sim: A good step in the right direction. To me the priority was better performance, and this new sim seems to take care of that with proper multithreading. My CPU (an old 9th gen Intel) was getting a workout and so was my 3080ti it was running about 5-10 degrees centigrade higher temps on average which means it's being utilized more. I am also excited to get more near study level aircraft as part of the base sim. Let's not forget the new systems such as the Primus Epic avionics and UNS-1 Navigation which will be available for 3rd party developers to use without having to code it themselves. Exciting times ahead! I will definitely do an around the world series of flights in the new sim to take in the improved world. Look for that series near the end of this year. Also, I will be rebranding this channel soon. I'll make a post about it in the near future.

Wait, MS2020 had a full photogrammetry Amsterdam available eventually and they didnt even have it for the tech alpha?

No. It was very stripped-down tech alpha not even one hand crafted airport. I haven't been to AMS in the new sim but I am sure it's photogrammetry is there now.

MSFS 2020 was truly ground breaking, still looks amazing in 80 percent of the world and in some areas is breath taking..... 2024 for me at least is all a bit, meh. I pretty much already have this game right now ready to play. Some people seem to want to kid themselves that 2020 doesn't exist or is somehow terrible looking.

13:40 been noticing the new wing lift when touching down on many videos I watch of MSFS2024. Is this realistic or a bit overdone in your opinion?

Since I am not a real pilot my thoughts would not be of value as if it's realistic or not. Maybe I should have countered with a bit of right aileron as I was pushing the rudder the other way, if I remember correctly.

Thats pretty fast. Do you have anything in your community folder? Mine takes over 5 minutes. As for 2024, it's quick from launching to initial menu screen it's about a minute, maybe less. I didn't time it.

My 2020 takes about 4-5 mins startup but have 50gb of community addons not included stuff from marketplace held in other folders. My 2024 Alpha took about 1min from same NVme although there’s significantly less to check thru.

I have I7 3070 TI and it runs fine for me. I5 might be a bit on the low end side of things though :)

@@payt01 I'm using frame generation mod for msfs 2020 actually cuz 2020 is not working well with this setup . Probably I can't not play msfs 24 without frame gen mode.

@@servetonurr Ah ok.. so what setting do you have for your graphics? I'm using the Nvidia DLSS set to either quality or balanced, and that works fine for me. I fly mostly in VR though, or in 4k when I use my monitor. I think MSFS 2024 relies on a good multicore processor, so I suppose it's a good idea to get a good processor, The 3070 TI should be fine. Also make sure you have at least 32 gigs of memory, and no clutter runnning in the background on your PC (check task manager, sort by processor % or memory usage to see hwat's going on on your PC. Stop anything that uses over 2 or 3 % of your CPU).

@@payt01 All ultra ,1080p , scale 120 u can check my last 2 video and description section for spec.I can even fly over of the big cities with frame gen mode around 50-55 fps (limited by the way ) but as ı said this is mod cuz 3k series is not compatible for dlss3 (frame generation).

@@servetonurr Hm well I suppose you could just give 2024 a spin and see how it goes. If performance seems to be lacking, it's time for an upgrade here or there :)

Please don't censor this post, as it's imperative that your viewers know this FACT about Meta VR devices: A cautionary tale for current and prospective Meta Quest VR headset owners (for sim'ing or gaming): I'm on day 8 of Meta holding my Quest headsets hostage. I've been using Oculus/Quest devices from the day they started making them (10 years ago?), and I have not been required to give my date of birth to Meta in all this time. But they recently demanded my DOB under threat of disabling my Quests, and they made good on that threat 8 days ago. Meta can metaphorically brick your headsets, any time they want, and for any reason they want, and you will have no defense against it. Conclusion: Think carefully before you BUY anything from Meta; The thing you BUY will not be yours.
