This is an amazing aircraft: it climbs well, cruises quickly and is extremely stable. Its various electrical systems make operating the glider really easy. It seems to me to be a championship winning aircraft. You're so lucky to fly this incredible glider: I've never flown anything like it, but then AS has a long history of making world beating aircraft. Thank you for sharing this experience with us. 😀

As the distance between the cockpit and the ground is so small, I wonder if this increases the probability of scratches there during an outlanding or even on a grass runway if the tail is elevated due to uneven surface encountered by the tailwheel.
@SteFly2 жыл бұрын
Probably slightly more than the ASG29. On an airfields it won't be a problem and with the propulsion you should avoid out landings 😅 I wouldn't care too much.

@SteFly2 жыл бұрын
I didn't try to fly extremely slow at this point because I was distracted by filming and watching what was happening. As you can see in this video also with 600 kg you can fly 90 kph without any problems. I only made a timelapse of the rigging process. Not a big difference to the ASG29.

The empty weight with batteries is about the same. The advantage of the AS33 Me is that the max takeoff weight is not limited for the electric self-launch and you have more space in the baggage compartment. Of course the removable batteries in the JS3 RES have their advantage, also for competition flying with only one battery pack. It would be interesting to see the difference in climb performance.

I wonder if an electric motor powered by super capacitors would work for the motor. They would be lightweight, and capable of short strong bursts of power. There would be no heavy batteries on board. You would be extremely limited on number of runs though.. What do you think is the average number of uses per flight? (extreme ballpark)They have made many advances in capacitor technology recently, maybe it's possible?🤔

I dont think 20 seconds of power would help you a lot when you are at the point of an outlanding
