IFR in TBM850 to finish the RV-14 decals and Adam’s first T6 flight
Proudly associated with ForeFlight: www.foreflight...
Visit www.FlightChops... for behind the scenes and monthly GiveAways!
In this episode of Flight Chops, we’re Flying #IFR in the #TBM850 with 16 yr old Adam at the controls! He and his dad have essentially rescued me to help get the RV-14 ready for the imminent trip to AirVenture in a few short days! While there, Adam will get a taste of some real #FlyingFundamentals in the T6 / Harvard with museum chief pilot Dave!
Thanks to Jim from PTNR Production!
He’s a long time pilot buddy that helped get the temp vinyl sorted out for the RV-14 in a hurry!

FLIGHT CHOPS DISCLAIMER:
I am a "weekend warrior" private pilot, I fly for fun with no intentions of going commercial. I have had my PPL for over 15 years, but still consider each flight a learning experience - I generally take detailed notes after each flight to remind myself what went well or what I could do to improve.... Having GoPro cameras to record flights like this is invaluable. I find these self analysis videos very helpful in my constant quest to improve, and am happy to share. Feedback is invited; however, please keep it positive.

Absolutely Fantastic to see what this young man has learned and how far he has progressed, HOWEVER, why do so many pilots sound like they are mumbling in a low mono tone which is barely audible. Speaking clearly over a radio is good airmanship wether one is a Professional Pilot, an Air traffic controller or a VFR weekend warrior. Aviate, Navigate, Communicate. Communication might be 3rd on the list however, it doesn’t mean that it’s not important. I hope the young man works on this part of his flying career😊

Osh21 content is coming - but this video was from the final stages of preparing for the event, so I wanted to get it done first. I have already published the Osh21 arrival if you missed that (linked below)... But there has not been time to organize the material filmed at Osh21 yet - I went straight back into production mode upon return and am only just back from having flown/filmed an Atlantic crossing in a DA-62. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2G8loOjhbV9fs0

Great episode Steve, big congrats on what must have been a stressful final few weeks, and as one proud dad to another, Obama's and Adam's beaming grins from ear to ear, great to see, Adams dedication and passion backed by Obama's no nonsense tutoring will ensure aviations future, enjoyed your build episode's but this one was kinda special well done guys. Have to ask? what polish/procedure & process did you use on you Van's? looks very slick. Once again thanks Cheers Glenn DownUnder.
