Flinders Ranges SA / Part 4 - Brachina & Bunyeroo Gorges - The Spectacular Razorback Lookout

Still camped at Wilpena Pound Campground, we do a day trip into the spectacular Brachina & Bunyeroo Gorges. On our return to Wilpena we stop at the epic Razorback Lookout and marvel at the views on offer.

I loved everything about this episode. I went to all those spots too, spectacular scenery everywhere and also a special hard to explain feeling about just being there. I was lucky enough to see quite a few yellow footed rock wallabies 😄. Thanks for a great episode.

The feeling of just being there is something that perhaps a lot wouldn't understand, it is a beautiful area. Hopefully we will see a yellow footed wallaby one day, we will just have to wait and see.

I think they close off the roads now so that no one can get into trouble with the flowing waters. We went through Bunyeroo Gorge one time years ago when there was a lot of water in it, very beautiful to see.

More great scenery. I enjoyed the feeling of sitting in between you and Sally looking out the windscreen as you drove around. 😀 nice that you mention when a 2 wheel drive can do any of the drives as well. I think people forget that not everyone has a 4 wheel drive. Weve never owned one actually but weve seen plenty of country without it and many places where people now would think only a 4 wheel drive can go. Thanks for sharing more adventures with us. Dirt roads were around a long time before 4WD's were. We need to take a step back and see that we don't need a 4WD to go a lot of places.

Once again able to take a break and enjoy "armchair travelling" 😎 Memories - bus trip A to Alice via Flinders Ranges. 💙 Q - in your intro it's mentioned you started travelling in the 80's with what and where I started in the 50's with a bondwood caravan! And then aluminium - camper trailers - converted vans - tents ( lived in a large one with two kids - hubby Q railway) slide on camper and one whose ends folded out! And travelled Aust - added Tassie this year - cabins Many thanks - happy safe travels❤

We started towing a caravan with a VJ Valiant station wagon towing a 15 foot Viscount pop top- The Viscount was as light as a feather to tow. We took it to Melbourne and along the Murry River as well as Adelaide each year for some time. The orange vehicle showing Sally and I in our younger days at the start of each video has the Viscount on the back.

There was a great effort required to clean the Colorado when we did get home, amazing how dirty a vehicle can get without any rain falling.

That is certainly some spectacular countryside, it would look glorious in the early morning & late afternoon sunshine but it seems that the summertime is the best time for the colours, so you would have to be made of tough stuff, although dry heat is more tolerable than the humid heat we get here in the eastern side of the country. I enjoyed seeing the two emus! We had a couple of earth quakes in the Flinders ranges over this past week only tiddlers but they would have made an impression on those camped there. Looking forward to next Friday night!!

Actually my trip up there was 1966 in a 1962 EK Holden, and then onto Marree and Oodnadatta , so as you say 2 wheel drive is OK with care.

A long story, something that was never intended to be. When the older UHF set was upgraded, we decided to leave the old one in the vehicle to make it easier when driving as we monitor two channels at the same time.
