When using an air stone in a aquarium does some of the oxygen within a bubble dissolve into the water as the air bubble travels to the surface?

If hot liquid has less dissolved gas in it than cold liquid then why does lava have so many bubbles in it when it solidifies? In other words wouldn't the hot lava expel all of its dissolved gas before it cools down?

So carbon dioxyde's solubility lowers the warmer the water is?
@PeterPete7 жыл бұрын
no - the warmer the water means the effervescence will be quicker!

gases are not soluble in liquids - the video proves that as bubbles can be seen escaping from the liquid!

If it so, how does а fish breathe?

why do we have ocean acidification?
@joanyou62544 жыл бұрын
yes they are. Especially in lower temps and higher pressures.

@@joanyou6254 these people are not demonstrating solubility of gases in the video - they are merely demonstrating the rate of gas production under 3 different temperature conditions!! You guys should get a proper education!

@@PeterPete literally the first words said in the video are "doing a quick experiment of solubility of gasses in a liquid" (roughly)😒. Regardless i was simply addressing the fact that you said gasses aren't soluble in liquids. They very much are and I'm assuming you've finished your education, because I have not and am still in school and this is the very topic we're doing. And the very thing my teacher told me, that gasses are soluble in liquids. But only under low temperatures and or higher pressure.
