Glad that it was a unoccupied building, and that there were no injuries to anyone related to this incident. Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area.

That's one way of getting urban renewal done.

Out side of Detroit this is the busiest department in the state of Michigan hard to be aggressive with 11 guys for the whole city.

first line on the b side was using tank water from the ladder truck, no supply line but still least get the supply going instead of holding hand tools looking important, house could have been saved though

regardless of their policies on vacants... this is embarrassing
@debramiller98927 ай бұрын
What is the purpose of that policy on vacant houses? I don’t quite understsnd
@lisad17247 ай бұрын
Prob because vacant houses draw vagrants and gangs which leads to firefighters risking going into a potential explosion or being exposed to chemicals used in drug making or worse yet a career or life ending injury trying to confirm there’s no one in it.

A sad commentary on Flint, that there are so many vacant, derelict homes that it's better to just let 'em burn when they do catch fire. What this vid has me thinking about are multiple things: 1) When, about 12 years ago, the home across the street and one more back down the way was torched by arson (cluck-head argument between druggies). Anyways, the flames were about as high as this one and from 200 feet away (measured on Google Maps) it felt like a sunny, warm summer day at 2am on my front porch from the radiant heat. Glad it had rained a couple days prior as there were glowing, burning embers showering down all over the neighborhood. The neighbor across the street and directly adjacent had his rear slider and vinyl windows melted to the point of needing replacement. 2) Makes me wonder what it was like in Dresden or Tokyo when they were firebombed in WW2. This, times 10,000 is what I imagine. 3) This place was somebody's pride and joy when it was first built. Who lived here and for how long? What was the story that led to it being abandoned vs being sold at a cheap price? 4) Looking at a satellite view of Flint, there are blocks I see where there are 3 homes left on one side of the street....and at least a dozen driveway's across the sidewalk to nowhere. Truly sad.

Years ago when chasing in a Detroit, I had similar thoughts. What were homes of families were now looked at as simply being an eyesore. It's crazy how things change.

Is that how flint does urban renewal by just letting house's burn down, while fire department just stands around watching it what waste of taxpayers money and this video should be shown across the country on how a fire department shouldn't respond to a house fire, what a joke

U all r just standing watching it burn r u kidding me do u not no how to do u all job prety sad why call u yall if u just stand around my God wow sad

This is done so you don't come back 3 or 5 times to the same structure and run the risk of having a career ending injury to one of your firefighters or worst yet a line of duty death.

Dam man fint Michigan fire department need some better fire hoses because the water pressure is not strong it’s weak water pressure they could’ve been had most of the flames put out
