@@wkreng well yeah it does. That’s about it though. COTW is nothing but a graphic design experiment for the open world engine. The devs don’t know a thing about hunting and they don’t care to improve the game. I’ve already played this “The Season” game, and while its graphics are not good, it’s developed by one dude who hunts in the Midwest and understands everything there is to know about hunting whitetail, and he’s put that into this game. I’ll take cheesy graphics over cheesy gameplay any day.

I love your “The Season” game play. In COTW I struggle to enjoy hunting the white tails due to how boring 90% of the antler types are. Love the antler variations in this game.

Call of the Wild is very pretty but that's about all it has going for it. It's honestly like if Big Buck Hunter arcade got an open world makeover. Clearly whoever made "The Season" hunts IRL or at least tentatively listened to several people who do. Those Swedes at EW are simply a bunch of graphic design techs who are great at making beautiful games but don't know much about hunting.

This game really does have some great detail. The lighting can be pretty bad and makes me seasick after a while, and I find the UI and controls kind of inscrutable, which keeps me from really digging in. I also really miss having a walk toggle. With some optimization and qol improvements, it could be something special

HONESTLY THIS!!!!! I have been saying that I will call COTW or WOTH the best hunting games out there if they simply would make a rugged looking upper or central Midwest map full of corn and bean fields with powerlines and farmsteads and dirt roads and creek bottoms. Everything in those games looks way too much like a perfect, pristine fantasy land, and that's simply not what most people hunt in.

I do wish different types of rifle would be added and possibly an extra 3rd general firearm day. Look past the graphics you’ll find a fun hunting game reminiscent of the old deer hunter games.

That happened on my first ever hunt, then never again. Try starting a session at the target range or something and see if you can move

Tripods and towers/blinds can be placed during scouting days for free, and cost EXP to place in-season. There are no treestands at the moment

The love for this game seems so forced. It looks awful, the animations are so bad they’re immersion breaking. The gameplay loop seems like it only holds about 5-10 hours of fun. Idk, just seems like the community is pretending to like something because they dislike another game or company
