Hello. How do I control the FOK-GEM Flip-dot display with my Arduino controller? Where can I order this Arduino controller? Ready to buy? Or just mountable? Do I have to upload a program to it? I really like how anything can be written on it. I also have such an electro-magnetic Flip-dot display and would like to write things down for it as well. For example, good morning, or Coffee break, or I love you mom. Such texts. Look forward to your prompt reply. Thank you in advance.

given the context of how they are intended to be used I imagine a long long time, but this probably is relative to how often they are being actuated as well.

I read it fairly recently but forget the exact numbers, but it was something insane like 100,000,000 actuations (that's not a typo, 100m actuations !!) . . . the mechanism is incredibly simple, two coils and a magnet, sometimes two magnets there's very little that can go wrong, the lifetime is going to be based entirely on wear and tear.

​@@lexitivium Yep, and depending on the display you have they can run at very high frame rates, 200fps+, but obviously for KZbin/video/animation, 25-30fps will be fine . . . I was thinking of trying to make a VU meter (for music) from an old bus display.

@@davelordy I guess that such a system is aaaaaa bit noisy and could require the use of a decent headset ;-)
