I got mine a few days, i adore it. Arkham Asylum was the book that really hooked me into Batman years ago. It also got me into collaging and working with mixed media. This was a great idea Chris. You should do more of them. I liked your shout-out to Gem Mint they are great. There's a guy called The Deluxe Edition and you may find his work inspiring.

Batman Arkham Asylum is a seminal story in the Batman franchise. One the the great storylines of Batman and wonderful artwork of Dave Mckean. I still have my original hardcover. Thanks for sharing Chris. 👍

WOW! Congratulations Chris that is definitely a gorgeous volume and the cover reminds me of a Salvador Dali painting but done by Pablo Picasso so very unique. Having a library of Batman and other DC Absolute Editions will definitely be a perfect addition to your new Batcave. I too remember being amazed and almost hypnotized by the artwork and depth of the story when it was first released in 1989. I was 25 and being a lifelong Batman fan the movie was HUGE for me I went back to the theatre to see it so many times that some of the employees got to know me name. Then to also have Batman Arkham Asylum come out it was so wickedly wonderful to see the Dark Knight finally getting into the unlit and grittier corners of Gotham City's famous mental facility. It solidified that the campy and airy days of Batman were definitely over and the hero for my adult age was born. I will be getting a copy of this but in the meantime I've pulled out my little 25th Anniversary Edition to reread it's like revisiting an old friend. Hey Chris, I was on the fence for this book because I'm not familiar with this story so I KZbin searched a low and behold you had a video for it. good to see you've gotten into the books. I used instock trades and just received All Star Batman & Robin, now waiting on HUSH & The Killing Joke Absolutes. Absolutes are my only interest for Batman reads. The size of these books are incredible. I skipped most of your flipping to avoid spoilers till you finished flipping it and resumed. Very good video. I'll order this one!

Just a tip for you as a book collector myself. Try not to slide your books around even on smooth surfaces. Even the smallest amount of grit will catch and scour the cover or back. It won't be obvious at first but over time you will start to see indentations and scour marks on your covers. If you want to keep them mint condition and therefore maximum resale value try to lift them up and not slide them around. Also when opening them try to not open them all the way up as repeated flexing of the spine can crack the spines creating lose pages and a broken spine. 80% should be more than enough to view the pages comfortably without causing undue stress on the spine. It's also wise to not flip the pages with your bare fingers as the oil on your fingers does soak into the pages which creates marks and over time does increase pre-ageing. This of cause can take a 100 years or more so it won't be a concern in your life time.

Nice Look through 👍, I have the 25 years Deluxe Edition (which has pretty much the same content) and on the fence to whether or not to upgrade. I recommend The Absolute Killing Joke for your collection. May I just point out though your title is a bit misleading "Flip it or skip it" to flip is to imply selling a product on for a profit as well as the vulgar meaning.

The artwork is cool but Lee Bermejo is King of artwork it is like comparing Prime1 to other studios with due all respect to all as they do their best to get us satisfied. Great video brother simple objective and light-hearted 👍
