Loved how authentic this was. You usually only get to see the perfect stuff but seeing the attempts was great to learn from. Thx x

Yes, it’s not easy, especially with a wide board and a victim that weighs substantially more than you do. 🤙🏼

I’m a beginner and fell in where I couldn’t stand for the first time today. I wanted you to know that because I watched your videos, I knew exactly what to do and didn’t panic. I was back on my board in no time! Thank you for your videos!

Hi Kate, fantastic ❤️❤️. What was the key? Kicking the feet behind you?
@kated.22402 жыл бұрын
@@blueplanetsurf yes! I held my paddle with one hand and with the other, I grabbed the middle strap when I kicked, tilted the board slightly, then i kept kicking and was able to grab the opposite rail and was back on. It is more tricky with a life vest (which is why I had to tilt) on but the technique still works. I thought of the tilt because of this video!

This is awesome! It’s good to know rescuing tips, but it’s also important to know how to and practice to get on the board if you fall off so you can help save yourself if there’s no one around to do so!

Thanks for the comment and yes, getting yourself back on the board is a critical skill and we have several videos about that as well.

Thanks for sharing this awesome tip! One thing I would add to help make it easier with the grip is to have BOTH people grip each other's wrists. So for example person one has their hand palms up and gripping the wrist of person two, and person two has their hands palms down and gripping the first person's wrists. This will especially help in the scenario where the helper is the smaller of the two.

Yes, good point. If the person is close to drowning they might no be able to help much though, so best if you can do it without the partners help.

Fantastic work everyone! I was there with y'all in spirit. This training was incredibly fun and thorough. I love how you included the whole learning process, mistake and all. This is not the easiest technique to do. Thanks so much Robert! 🌊🏄♂️😁🤙🔥

Hi David, it was great to have you part of the online class to demonstrate techniques with your mini paddle. And yes, making mistakes and learning from them is part of the learning process. 💯🤙🏼

Great trick, never seen that before. Will include in my clubs Classes Right Away - Thanks

Fantastic, this is an important skill that all advanced paddlers should learn and hopefully never have to use.

i learn something here but im convinced you can pull anyone onto top of board without flipping i just ask them to hold on to board or grip my suit and bring them in holding on but if i feel they need to be on board i can have them hold on for a few seconds while i get up then i fall off side with strait legs on rails will drag anyone onto board dont have to worry about the waves shifting the flipped board so the fins hit you or the board slide out from nose now no one has floatation the demonstration seems good enough or convincing just think the physics is off and lifeguards dont do this flip technique but then again their boards have hand grips sup boards are amazing because they have 1 or more hand grips that provide whole arm reach so it will hold head above water if they maintain grip on handle if theres an in tide you want your bodies in the water so the tide can pull you to shore if theres an out tide you both have to get up there or far away you both go
