My pets always got sick at the holidays or over the weekends when vets were not available. Mine are all gone now.

Same with my pets too. Thankfuly I live in Germany and we have a great vet system here where any animal gets 24/7 and 365 days and everyone has a vet that can come out within 20 mins. I have a choice of at least 5 clinics within 30 min drive and they all help one another in difficult situations. We have to pay 50 Euros extra for emergency fees but it's worth every penny.

It's always the weekend! My cat last January I managed to get her into the vets on the Saturday morning but there was not much they could do untill the Monday because they are only open half days on Saturdays! She passed on the Wednesday because her liver had shut down!

He produces to much iron and my she is anemic and sometimes has to have transfusions it's a strange old world. Have a good night and may your days be blessed stay safe

IMO too many animals on your property. Too many cats & goats. I realize it’s difficult to get them “fixed” however, it is the responsibility of the owners. Cross-contamination is real, rotate pastures like Lester did @ the sanctuary. Just some suggestions before you make the decision to move. 😢

Megan, you looked beautiful on your wedding pictures, but I wondered why you looked different. I missed your freckles! I hope LuLu gets better. You will find out that it seems everything goes bad on a Friday night or a holiday. Not just animals, but people and especially children. It is always those that can't tell you what you need to know. Many ER visits with my elderly parents happened on Fridays or weekends. I guess if you look at it that way, chances are 3 out of 7 bad things will happen Fri-Sun. Drive carefully, and remember that you did everything right. But sometimes that isn't enough.

If the grounds on Morrow Hill are contaminated for animals, then it can't be healthy for humans. I'm concerned about the children on the hill running around barefoot or playing in dirt barehanded and absorbing the contaminants through their skin. I'm so sorry you lost LuLu. That was a good precaution but they have never had a parasite problem at the LHL property. All of the flooding on Morrow Hill has contaminated the ground.

@@kristim5084I agree. They did that to keep the alpaca from ever getting what Ernie and Okie got at the sanctuary. And to keep the goats from eating in the dirt as much as possible. But not because they had anything. I will say though doing what he did for the goats with the feeders and cement slab might help Megan and LE. But the goats still eat the grass which is where they are getting these parasites from it seems.

Watching the play back. You mention a winter freeze. That got me thinking. Liquid Nitrogen is used to freeze. So I googled more info. Liquid Nitrogen Fertilizer …. Might have an effect on Larvae eggs. Take a peek at the pasture maintenance with liquid nitrogen.
