This Rams team was a good team. They went 11-5 in 1989, made the playoffs as a wildcard and made it all the way to the NFC championship. And yet all I can think of is "How the F did the Saints lose this game?"

the Saints linebacking core was ridiculous back then - Sam Mills and Pat Swilling, look out! Loved growing up in the 80s watching real men play the game - too many soft players nowadays and too many rules. This was what real football looked like and they actually ran the ball. I'm really curious how many targets Anderson had by the end of this crazy game...my best friend at the time loved Jim Everett and I was all about Randall Cunningham.

NFL Throwback, fantastic job with the edit of this game; loved the inclusion of the intro and between quarter breaks. This is my first time seeing this game as we didn't have cable TV in 1989, but I heard all about Flipper crushing the Saints' playoff hopes the next morning at school! After watching this game, couldn't believe how dominant the Saints D was, until the last 5 minutes of the game. Flipper went into Jerry Rice mode. Thanks again for the game!
