Love this! I have been naturally moving towards this business model just by getting better at finding good brands when I source. (I have great thrift stores in my area, thankfully!) Since I’ve been listing more $40-$50+ items, they are now becoming more of my daily sales. I still have lower ones, but I’m moving in the right direction!! I have found that when I have a decent back stock of GOOD items to list, I am much less likely to pick up lower priced items as I source, just to reach a quota. So, it’s good to put yourself in a position to be picky so you can stick to your goals!! (Even if that means sourcing a bit more in the beginning…sign me up!😂)

I do high ASP and I would never go back. It's much less work for me and I don't need to have as much room for storage.

Sell the R13 jeans yourself. My Kate skinny jeans just sold for my full asking price of $60. This is a difficult strategy. I am a part time seller so have been trying a similar strategy of finding higher ASP items, want to list for no less than $40. I don’t need many pieces but it is difficult to find multiple items that will sell upwards of $40. Getting inventory at the bins to take to crossroads and use proceeds to pay up is a great idea but you will expend a lot of energy and time doing that. Time will tell exactly how it plays out and if it works better for you. I’m a sucker for J Crew jackets, especially any NWT. Nice haul and look forward to see how well they sell.

I got into reselling because I was finding items that I knew were sellable for a lot more than the BST store had it on the shelf for. You are getting amazing pieces at Crossroads! I am wondering though what your cost is in time and if going to the bins and then Crossroads is proving to be worth it - or maybe it's an even better model than the direct buy? I'm curious about sourcing in Portland because there seems to be a lot of money there and people with high end taste. I personally do a mix of thrift, BST, and estate sales to keep my ASP $50 and up though I don't keep a book on my numbers - Posh has my ASP at $70. I do not intentionally pickup items that I have to list below $58, and really, I'm looking for that $80 and up listing. The $58 is bread and butter for me.

Do you think Plato’s closet takes closet like what you are finding? Is the only consignment place I have within hrs away 😢. My only option is sell at the flea market

I’m excited for your new journey because I’ve been very very slowly 😁trying to do the same. It’s just not that easy to source high ASP items and to see whether it will sell or not because those items tend to move slower for me…

Wow that is a really good payout for 13 items. I only have one BST (Platos) in my town. I sold to them today and they took 12 items and gave me $70.

I've never seen a J. Crew jacket sell for $70, it will be interesting to see how it does. It will be good to see how this new strategy goes for you.

I often sell them for $90, just depends on the style and size. Larger sizes (10 and up), more expensive materials and styles. These mall brands are not cheap in the store, I think smart buyers know that and will pay more for them. One of the $90 took a few months to sell and I had so much noise on it of lowball offers - constantly. Then it finally sold for the price I wanted. Hope any of that is helpful, happy selling!

Do you have a preference for the Hawthorne crossroads or the northwest 23rd crossroads? I do better at the 23rd store.

Where do you sell your mystery box? Is that on Posh? I didn't know they allowed mystery boxes....interesting. I know EB allows it under restrictions.

So, why aren't you consistently checking comps on items you are paying up for? They key to your new model is a great sell through rate to spend less time listing and more time with your kids so I was curious. I like this model and I'm watching to learn.

My sales are bad. And too many very low dollar sales. I don’t have good sourcing. No more storage: I don’t know what I’m going to do.
