Oldschool runescape has been out for over 10 years, and most notable achievements have been completed. But who did them first?
Back in 2013 completing a fire cape is very different to today. I want to take a look back to the inception of oldschool runescape to see who managed to complete a fire cape, max an account, or obtain a whip first.
Today we are going to be looking at a history of players that did things first.

Funfact, coldfingers was actually a hardcore ironman, but got pked at big bones by a clan in the wilderness when he was training for 99 prayer, pretty sure it was his last skill aswell

He got pked at 98 prayer, I think it may have been RoT. He still had rc left, which he did on purpose in case he died at boneyard. He then did a suicide method for rc with edgeville respawn which sped up rc but was obviously only possible if not hcim.

Thieving being the first 99 is very fitting. The first couple days revolved around stealing from the silk stall and selling it to the NPC to get more GP generated in to the game. EVERYONE was doing it, i forgot about that entirely until now! TY, awesome video!

i got lucky. about 2 weeks after osrs launch in 2013 i got guthans spear and chain skirt. all i had to buy was the helm and top. about 3 weeks after launch i has wearing full guthans.

Good times. I remeber offering 40k red chins for the first whip back then. I had the first trimmed skill cape w/ 99 hunter/99range and ended up being the first maxed 1 def w/ 99 attack. Don't have that time to grind anymore lol

Best friend who doesn't play anymore "solo davis" received an Armadyl hilt 2nd kill when god wars was originally released on osrs. Mod reach, before his "blue audi" days had private messaged him in game to congratulate him on the hilt drop. I can't confirm he was the first person to receive the hilt, but to get a pm from a gold crown jagex mod congratulating him was quite something.

I really miss the first few months of old school. It was so cool to see people get the requirements for whips and other items for the first time and people paid a lot of money to get the first few. The seasonal game modes just don't hit the same way because you know it will get wiped. Hard to believe it was over a decade ago, the real 2006-2007 era feels several times older than OSRS even though osrs "only" came out 6 years later

i was doing the 85 slayer grind maybe week 3 and was doing a trolls task next to a very wealthy 99 runecrafter with glory/black mask/cannonballs. he died and my bank value went up 10x easily. good times

Dude acts like the game hadn’t existed for like the previous almost 15 years before osrs was released. People knew everything going into old school. The first 99 was a big race. Not to mention pyramid plunder was still one of the most common ways to train thieving on rs3 at the time.

I think I was the first hardcore to die BECAUSE of my ring of life proc. I got poisoned and forgot an anti poison so as I was getting low health I tellied with my ardy cape to the monastery to bank and cure my poison. As I was 2 tiles from the bank booth my poison ticked and proced my ring of life and I didn’t have time to get back to the bank before I died.

Does anyone still remember when the Grand Exchange was released? It was like 2007-2008 or something like that.. i remember coming home from school and just typing in items i really wanted like a party hat and putting in my entire cash stack and hoping it would somehow buy... Then when i got my first bit of money i would host gambling services.. until i lost then id scam the people. Good times 😢
