How I Barraged to 99 Magic with the Power of the Bonecrusher! [OSRS]

Hey guys, and welcome back to another main progress video. Today I am focusing on maxing my magic skill. I actually am pretty close now, as I gained a lot of Magic exp by using the bake pie spell.
I will be heading back to maniacal monkeys as they are the best exp in the game. However to continue training my defense, I will be casting barrage on defensive mode. This should get be 4-5 additional defense levels which is going to be awesome. Luckily barraging is quite a bit cheaper than chinning.
I also am going to be doing a few more chambers of Xerics, and finally my first completed solo.

Grats on 99 mage, I just got 99 there too! Too late now but I'd recommend bursting in mm2 caves. I tried both barrage and burst in max mage and the exp rate was only about 10k per hour more with barrage. Probably due to the monkeys not having that much health to begin with and the freeze time of barrage causing monkeys to stack much less effectively. Barrage is really not worth it.

Haven't got the numbers in front of me but I think barrage is something like 2.5x more expensive and from what I seen with this training method, about 5% more effective. I was standing in the jagged corners and moving a few squares to keep stacking. With burst I was getting 270-280k mage exp p/h or 205k mage / 115k defence p/h. Barrage barely made a difference after about a 3 hour test.

The monkeys have 0 magic defense and a level 1 magic so bringing ahrims or anything that only provides mage accuracy is a waste, you can even bring proselyte for the prayer despite the negative mage attack they possess due to that. You will still roll the same hitchances and the same dmg assuming you have all the +%-damage providing gear on

Tip: Doing the morytania elite diaries (most skills can be boosted) is super worth it for the 2x prayer xp bunecrusher bonus, if you're planning on doing this a lot. You're gaining millions of prayer XP for free compared to the regular bonecrusher if you get all your combat stats to 99 by afking monkeys, which is what I'm doing.

You’re asking my man to go from 65 fishing to 91 (minimum). That’s 50hours assuming he does perfect 2 tick sword fish to get 280K prayer which is less than 1 hour of top level prayer training.

If the ancestral or tormented are out of your price range, I want to note the elite void equipment provides an additional 2.5% magic damage and +6 prayer. Making this a great alternative armour set up. This was a extremely helpful guide thank you. The comments have been educational as well.

Augury doesn't increase your damage, I wouldn't give up the max hit for the Occult. As long as you're not completely afking, you can swap to the Bonecrusher on low prayer

@@MrGrombie accuracy only decides wether you will hit x or 0 the x is random and not affected by accuracy, and specifically with magic the monkeys have no magic def thus making magic accuracy basically useless, thats why people run barrows with - magic accuracy gear

Dude never use Augury when bursting lmfao. It will equates to like 2% more accuracy in reality on a monster with like 0 magic defense. Plus the prayer drain just with Augury becomes 3x more with it on overall not going to make anything any faster. You might save like 30 mins on 99 magic lmao

Update on MM2 cave numbers: in max gear, you burst for over 185k xp per hour using the corner method with defensive casting. You barrage for approximately 230k magic xp/hr in the corner with defensive casting. There's a significant difference if you're willing to pay for it.

The rooms are always full so if you don’t crash someone you will just be sitting there logged in getting zero xp. And I did it with 2 people yesterday for a hour and the experience rate stayed the same: so the idea that only 1 person per the entire room is ridiculous. There is not enough rooms for the entire games player base so you have to do what you have to do sometimes. It’s not that someone wants to crash you but when every single world is full you have no choice. I also think most of the rooms are full of robots training their mage.

I ended up purposefully having to not train certain skills so I didn’t get 99 in them first since it took me so long to do farming cheaply. i find barraging and chinning to 99 waste of time, rather train them while doing slayer and raids. going for like 90 magic and range and then rest with combat activities would be optimal

you should be clearing 300k exp/hr at mm2 with barrage, and if you wanted max efficiency i would reccomend the two tile method with BLOOD barrage and you should clear 360-380 with kodai/occult/torm/cape. probably more with ancestral.
