This month we have had some crazy things happen in the oldschool runescape economy. From huge new updates and area expansions, to some pretty sizable price swings, there is a lot to talk about.
There are a few items that are normally heavily botted that I want to take a look at today. Somehow they are hitting prices we have rarely seen before. Is jagex heavily banning bots, or is something else happening? We are also going to be covering the newly added Varlamore expansion and all the new items added with it.

I use the runelite bot detector, and it's confirmed over 150 bans with 300+ possible bans, which is crazy considering how little of the playerbase I've encountered since I added it. Maybe 24 hours of in-game time but largely grinding the same spots for long periods.

Yeah your understanding of economics is backwards, If theres alot of volume in producing (bots farming) the market gets saturated making prices lower, when the bots get banned there's less of those items on the market making them more vaualable.

The bonds did dip due to the bot ban (14m to 11m) but the change was barely noticeable. The price has since recovered and normalized around 12m to 13m

Jagex has been bringing out so much melee focused content recently that its not surprise scythe is going to the moon. Literally both of the new bosses from Varlamore PT2 are melee focus, that's on top of Arraxor and Colosseum.

Unfortunately it seems like a lot of the 'high level PvM' bots have just moved over to Moons of Peril - it's being botted to hell currently, to the point that blood moon has started crashing pretty hard despite the still huge demand for it. The problem with this is that the other sets are actively crashing through the floor since Varlamore P2 didn't add specific 'use cases' for them like it did with blood moon, and there's now a huge excess of supply from the bots. It's gotten to the point that by far the best GP/H now is just to run blood moon only, while watching the bots who are there 24/7 without ever even having to leave thanks to the mechanics there run the entire dungeon over, and over, and over again.

could also be inflation when botted items go up in price. I noticed the gold jewelry bot farm stopped trying, must be other easier and better methods. I was trying to tb people in slayer caves for 90 minutes and only 1 person wasn't paying attention. Everyone else had 1 tick teleport plugins. There's more people abusing the game, than playing it. The bots are doing level 500 toa runs since they introduced skill based reward scaling, and bots have a monopoly on skill. Probably easier to bot toa than to do dragon slayer 2. Also it's less noticeable since their account is in a private instance most of the time.

I don't know what happened, but I made a new account and whilst I was training agility early on to get myself MOGS (Training at Canafis) I decide to check the clothes store to try and find some flips for early game GP, well somehow the purple hat I was buying for 650GP was selling on the GE for 2.1-2.4k! But the thing was It wasn't a ONE OFF!? I made about 5m buying just purple hats from the store and selling them on the GE over a couple of days whilst training there. Zulrah and Vorkath in the past year or so haven't really been a good money maker considering their requirements (less so on zulrah but still needs some level of requirements). Compared to Nex which you can take any hacked account with decent levels and bot it regardless of what quests or skilling methods have been done, or build it yourself afking in NMZ/sandcrabs for a month.
