We've Never Seen Prices Like this Before in Oldschool Runescape!

In the last month we have received so much information which has had a huge effect on the oldschool runescape economy. With updates like araxxor, the summer summit and the upcoming varlamore expansion, there is a lot of change in osrs.
That said there continues to be some massive price increases in heavily botted items as well. Items like zulrah scales, the granite maul and blood runes continue to rocket upwards. Today we are going to try and cover all of the interesting market movements this month.

the reason why the blood runes also went up is because a method to 1 tick autocast spells on the toa obelisk got exposed and was available for a long time. It has since then been patched but a lot of people took advantage of this

The osrs economy is so strange cause its actually quite stable and doesnt have much inflation/deflation happening however the gp to irl dollar exchange when looking at bonds or RWT over the years shows the value of GP to the USD go down dramatically over ther years. How ever within the game gp is still just as valuable as its always been. Certain items loose and gain value but GP stays fairly consistent in buying power.

GP is not as valuable as in the past, but there is certainly a floor for many items. High alch keeps the economy stable.

Honestly bro same, I've been on the Grotesque Guardians grind, and I'll finish like the last 20 kills of the task on the normal gargs when I'm just totally burnt out. As somebody that's been on that particular grind for a minute, I'll mention that the echo boots entering the game pushed the Boss KC profit per hour over the normal gargs. But as the maul prices have climbed, They're back on top. Garg pet is my favorite in the game and I want it turbo bad, but even I'm pausing my boss grind to cash in on these profits. It's so tasty.

Oh nooooo!!! Bots are gone and OSRS is going back to "I have to actually play the game to make money, good thing the prices of items are going up so I can make money while doing so!" And so many people are crying because "why can't I spend pennies on easy progression anymore? Where are my bot bones?" (I mean the bots are absolutely not gone, but Jagex did crack a lot of them, and the effects of that are clearly visible.)

The issue with wrath maul is that it's a world boss. WBs are ment to be a fun experience with others. Putting that inside the wildy is toxic cause a world boss is suppose to show up anywhere at particular intervals. like Final Fantasy 14 online. They have regional bosses and world bosses that roam the game. If Jagex reworks the boss to be not in the wildy it would be a good way to play with others all the time. The idea is great but their execution of it is bad.

The Wildy is key to the concept. There are currently two activities on the wild you can do with a large group: agility and Callisto. Wildy Wyrm would add another.

Another notable change in price was for the amulets of chemistry, new herb activity will reward an imbued version of the amulet that consumes the regular ones for charges.

It's hard to avoid inflation when one of the best low input training methods literally prints money. it's nice to see the value of items going back up (in general) though... it's rather obnoxious when bots are tanking the value of items that should be worth good cash

Not a fan of this idea the community has grasped on to thinking the results of this are from anti-botting measures. Yes, I’m sure the odd bot or 2 getting banned every now and then contribute a small amount. But this is more of an outcome from the item-sink list from the g.e. Tax. Although value of gold decreases and the gold being “taxed” just comes right back into the game while they sink items. Which isn’t a bad thing, but it’s not their anti-botting efforts..

If it was just the item-sink list from the g.e. Tax, then we would of seen these results in a slower progression going upwards. Every time a large number of bots are band in a short amount of time, the prices of many botted items go up *Drastically* in a short amount of time and this has been proven and seen time and time again... This isn't some conspiracy, this is facts. Obviously you can't discount the tax and other stuff and the new content has an effect, that's not wrong too. But this is a bot nuke, plain and simple. Just because you're pissy about it doesn't change it. The fact you're so upset about it doesn't even make sense lol. Edit: Ah wait i bet i know why you're so upset, you hate being wrong. xD

Haven't done an Araxyte task in a few days but this is how I find out the Aranea boots price has dropped. :( Easily became my favorite cannoning task, got 11 pairs of boots in 2604 kc making almost 175M just off the boots alone and at least another mil per task off of runes, herbs, and alchables, even taking cannonballs into account. Looks like the boots are about 10 mil right now, which is still great of course. I never saw anyone else cannoning or even killing Araxytes that whole time. Takes a lot of the sting off of selling my bludgeon for 20 mil a few weeks before Araxxor release 🥴

The blood rune spike was probably due to the cox splashing which people abused for a few weeks before it was patched. And has stayed high due to lack of excess supply

Killing bots seems to be having an awesome effect on the economy. I’ve made a ton of money off of Zulrah, Vorkath, and Gargoyles. Unfortunately I sold all of my Gmauls from grinding gargoyles for like 450k, but still, it’s been really nice.

Fang will almost be as good as a lance (If you base it on how it performs against other draconic monsters today). So unless you want to get 1-2 kills more/hour at the new boss. Just stick with the fang. Unless they change it up somehow.

Slight inflation is good for the economy. It makes people work for money and invest their assets into items. If the prices stagnated, holding money would be a good thing to do, which would cripple the economy. There is however a slight problem with high alch, shops etc. as they do not capture the inflation of the economy.

So if someone bought and hoarded the majority of their g mauls at 30k and spent max cash, they would have had 71,582 g mauls. If they sold them at todays current vaule, they would have made a total of 53,393,013,800, giving them a 51b profit. People shouldn't be ALLOWED to hoard certain items past certain amounts just to control the cost of the economy. The item cap should be lowered on items held in the bank on items. No one needs 71k g mauls. 😂

You need a gmaul clamp inorder to get the 50% spec since 2014. You lose the maul and you only get the clamp back. Not hard to see since the gmaul is still one of the best pking weapons
