Really wish people would realize they can sell clue items after a step. Especially expensive items that just sit there in a stash. This is why people merch clue step items like the Death tali/tiara. Ppl buy at inflated prices and don't sell it afterwards, helping the price inflate.

@@righe8701 You either lose 1% of the gold an item is worth when selling back to the G.E. tax or lose 100% of the gold by holding on to a useless item you'll never use outside clues. For the sunfire helm, it's better to lose 14k to sell it back than to hold on to the item and lose 1.4m

When the league started I hopped on ge-tracker and saw someone had been randomly buying desert boots for like 70k. I went to al kharid, bought a bunch, popped them on the ge for 50k. Between leagues and real life, I forgot about it... logged in to them all being sold. I was kinda hoping it would make an obscure blip in the graph, but you can't even tell. Sad days.

Granite maul is rising probably because it gets destroyed when lost and converted to gp if it has the ornate handle attachment. People are starting to realize it’s a non-cycling item and only way to get them is through slayer. So the overall Granite Maul stock(# of items in game) is decreasing.

Yeah but that has been true for a long while, so there has to be a reason for the current rise in price; either there is more demand, which means more people losing their mauls, or there's less supply. A bot ban might be the cause, but I don't know.

The cane might be manipulated upwards to try and make people waste points on old rewards so the new rewards will be of lower volume and thus making them worth more? It's a long shot, but it might be a factor.

It's pretty simplistic but it is fun. When I played rs3 I had a monopoly on raw rabbits. Completely corned the market, I would ruthlessly undercut anybody who tried to compete with me after I got the price to rise from like 250gp up to almost 2k. Made a couple hundred mil off those alone. Had huge margins on my massive rabbit stack. Price changes moved slow back then so I flew under the radar for most of it

Dont think a lot of pkers play leagues and even if they would be only a minor affect caused by them. As the demand stays nearly the same, the output due to a lack of pvmers farming those items is abscent, and so the prices go up. The same applies to zulrah, or maybe in particular, that the have banned all the bots, like a bot nuke for vorkath and zulrah. They should nuke them at gwd, especially nex

It's because it's primarily used by pkers but it's lost on every death because of the addition of the ornate maul handle. If you pk someone that is using a g maul, the g maul itself is destroyed.

Not sure its true but one of my friends said the ornate maul handle demand was so high and granite mauls were in the game a long time with a bulk amount on the ge. Apparently the disparity between the two is no longer which now puts them both in demand. Odds are when they were around alch value, people alched them more often then not so they didn't have to bank. Can imagine the bots at lms were more rampant than gargoyles as well given the requirement difference.

Those sunfire splinters were a hilarious ride. Saw them dip slightly at the start of december, but the trade history was pretty balanced, so I brought 90k of them at 540ish, a day later they plummeted and from there I watched them crash and burn to 100 gp looool. Only just recouped that one 😂

During leagues, the demand has been exceptionally high for cheap prayer bonus gear, blessed d'hides, granite weapons, brine sabres and other low level weapons and ammunition! Checked two worlds at cox and found almost 40 bots wearing blessed d'hides & masori helms with dhcbs (almost all accs banned now but they dumped dex scrolls for as low as 5m each, about 20k botted kc per world). Ankou top peak was 183.3 (someone bought it from their own account).

The reason the price for Granite Maul is going up is because they banned deathmatching in the Wilderness. This means a lot of players are gradually returning to PvP. And since the Granite Maul gets destroyed when you die with an ornate maul handle they are now in higher demand.

Old league rewards is market manipulation. Manipulators know that most people are going to go on the wiki page after leagues to see what has the highest GE value to league point conversion. People will then buy "useless" low-value items thinking they are worth something, meaning the actual valuable rewards are more rare and can be sold for even higher amounts. This is even more significant in this leagues in particular; because you need around 80k league points to buy all the league rewards - far more than 99.9% of players will achieve. There will be a shortage of certain cosmetic rewards from this years shop even without market manipulation, so the potential gains are much higher.

As a RS3 player, it’s just wild to me that the answer to basically every supply and demand question in OSRS is “bots”. It’s such a complete infestation. I remember there was once a time when I tried OSRS, but I just got put off from it immediately from seeing bots just everywhere.

if there is a demand for 3rd party in game currency, there will always be a demand for bot scripts. not many bots in rs3 for a few reasons, but the big reasons is: not many people play it in comparison.
