Imo the mishap worked out in our favor because we got to see both the ios and Android versions 👍🏽 Neat tech, great video, and very thorough. Thank you!

Hi Alana Jen, Agreed. Yes. Interesting how that worked out. Truth is stranger than fiction. Thermography ASQ! Appreciate Your Comments!

I’m curious how this thing compares to the $10,000 camera my work has. Does the FLIR one pro have an emissivity adjustment, and can it give accurate temperature readings across the picture? That’s the only thing I can think of that would make my work’s camera so much more expensive...

Hi Life Meet Lightning, Interesting Question. Details matter! The FLIR ONE Pro is a 3rd Generation Thermal Imaging Camera. On the FLIR One Pro, with the Spot Meter enabled, under Image Settings, there are four emissivity settings. Approximations. 1.) Default, Matte. 2.) Semi-Matte 3.) Semi-Glossy 4.) Glossy (Not-recommended) We were viewing the Black Anodized Aluminum Heat Sink with Blue Painters Tape over that due to the Thermistor for the Digital Thermometer. Your Work Camera probably has an emissivity calibration according to emissivity chart values. Among other things! In other words, Your Work Camera is more sensitive. And far more accurate. Good question. Amazing Technology to be able to access! Our Goal was an Unboxing, Inventory, Quick Configuration and Test. Depending upon Subscriber's interest, a deep dive later. If no interest, we covered the basics needed for our next 3 Videos of Heat and Speed on NVMe M.2 Drives. Thanks for Watching! Appreciate Your Comments!

@@BuildOrBuy We usually use black electrical tape to calibrate the emissivity value when we need accurately measure things at work - .95 if I remember right. Honestly, most of the time I’ve used it has been just to look for hot spots like you did with the FLIR. It’d be nice to have a FLIR for personal use, but I don’t think I could justify getting one. Lol

Hi@@LifeMeetLightning, FLIR recommends using Scotch Brand 88 black vinyl electrical tape for best emissivity. I can definitely relate. Thermography is a unique task. And not something anyone would normally perform on a frequent basis. Based on Subscribers Questions, I expect we may be doing more heat and speed testing. Otherwise, agreed, having one for personal use would not make good sense. We'll see! Appreciate Your Comments!
