Also: I was not using the AI to replace an artist. I actually do most of the art work for my projects. I use AI (sometimes) to help me with inspiration and idea generation. I know it's horrible for the environment. I know we should never replace real artists (in my opinion it is not good enough yet to do so unless you're making something exceptionally shitty). But for my own work I find AI to be interesting to bounce off of as I create. I try not to use it superfluously as it is just so insanely bad for the environment, but so are a lot of things and we continue to use them. As with anything else, I try to be responsible and thoughtful. Anyway, nothing was taken from the AI line drawings.

Ashley I am ALL FOR you making this pivot and I'm so excited to see what comes out of it. My favorite you is when you do just say your real opinions and be your real "insincere" self rather than seeing how frustrated it makes you because there is a part of your "fan-base" who doesn't understand comedy. totally agree with this analysis. since the whole thing shows have been so much easier and my friends/openers have remarked about how much less stressed I seem on stage. the roasty persona, as much as i love it sometimes, is only one component of my work, but it grew as a response to who was coming to the shows (and what was going viral). It was like a feedback loop. It's bee very nice to feel free of that.

As much as Ashley (all of you, really) has impacted the development of my queer identity (and despite first finding her via WHGS), I am most excited by the way she introduced me to comedy. There is a crossover that does happen where we come for the gay and stay for the laughs. Through Ashley, I have found so many other comedians to love, and now I go to clubs and follow comedy trends and have such a massive love for the art. I promise there's more connection between your core audiences (queers and comics) than you realize!

okay wait i wanna preface fhis by saying: im not here w ptorches and pitchforks, im here with fear of real art dying out please dont use AI for art things (drawings, voices, music, etc) not only bc it steals from genuine creators but also bc it might kill actual art,, voice actors of a certain voice acting studio (forgot the exact studio but ik cyyu/alejandro saab, nazeeh tarsha, dani chambers, (and yes all the VA's here are in fact from genshin bc its the only game i play from that list) had to go on strike bc the studio was looking into replacing them with AI im not sure if ghis was real or not bc i only have one source on it but i believe there was an anime studio that almost replaced their actual artists,, theres plenty of viewers that probably wouldve loved to draw the art and even if you couldnt afford to pay for it theres ppl that would do it for free if you put out a commission or smth i know the AI is easier but its also already starting to put people out of jobs before even being good,, if we keep using AI instead of people im actually afraid of what we might lose

yeah imo, you feel the way you feel and whether you wanna label it as romantic or not is really just language and how you interpret the feeling. like sure, if you wanna date them and kiss them and whatever, that might be romantic to most people, but some people kiss platonic friends, or to other people kissing is sexual more than it is romantic. and some people have romantic feelings without wanting to kiss or date someone. it's a really personal thing to look at what a person is open to and what a feeling means to the person who is experiencing it. and i 100% agree that sometimes you're not sure and that's fine, especially if you know you don't want to change anything about the relationship or that you aren't going to. these things can be extremely hazy and being comfortable with uncertainty is valuable too

Ash is totally correct, her audience has become very hard to please, it wants to be "edgy" but also always so fucking correct. Regarding chat-Gepetto, it is the first wobbly steps of an AI, it doesn't know shit, it makes more or less educated guesses based on googeling and collecting data on a subject, the first AI's concidered Nazism as a equally valid political wiew, since "it used to have so many followers" and "it started in Germant and spread to neighbouring countries and all over europe" An AI is never going to better then the persons setting it's rules and guidlines initially. If it didn't have guidlines, it would say that everything chinese is most popular, now it guesses based on where in the world your IP is from, if you use an VPN you would get european podcasts, Indian podcasts or whatever.

As a leftist, and obviously this isn't any comedian fault, but because of current events around the world and the way we can see what's happening via social media, really makes it hard to laugh at something. Like for example, especially in America knowing the fact our taxes are going into advancing an active genocide. Then, we open social media and because we support the cause of the people being genocided we go on twitter and truly see everything our taxes are doing to them in the most graphic ways possible. *PLEASE READ* This is the only podcast I’ve consecutively watched/listened to each week. Today it occurred to me that i’ve never written a review for the pod since I always tune in on YT. I saw a lot of negative reviews about Ashley’s presence on the pod which genuinely shocked me, I knew she had some small drama awhile back & thought the way she spoke on it was extremely appropriate & have seen the pain it caused her especially within her career as a comedian. I feel like this is just one of those scenarios where the loudest voices are the people least informed- but I could be wrong. I’ve watched this pod basically since episode 1 bc I was following y’all on varying platforms and have loved every episode, it’s so important to me and i’ve never felt more represented in the media- this pod just feels like convos my friends and i have & doesn’t feel forced. I’m a little under Mak’s age, studying posi psych in school w an interest towards relationship therapy paths & am sorta a former people pleaser learning to be more confrontational/ take up more space. It’s so obvious to me how important each persons perspective in this pod. Elena is amazing at bringing up important topics (as is Ashley from different perspectives) & that dynamic is perfect, then Mak comes in to break any moment it gets too serious with some gen z shit😅💗 all of the people on this pod are amazing and all of your voices are very important in the queer community & online.

Guys, I love this podcast and your takes on it, but I really don't like the use of AI. I understand Ashley interest on it from a technical/professional pov, but it really is damaging in a lot of ways to a lot of people. If you have Uni, or even access to an online course there's usually a arts class or breath on AI you can do! Either in Philosophy, Law or Psych. If not, I can link you some videos on AI that don't lean one too much into underplaying or overplaying the risks and benefits. You should see what scientific visionary Arthur C Clarke said about 'AI'.
