The grandmother is the “Queen” to this “King” demon meaning he can only be summoned through her blood line and that’s “Hereditary”
@TurntBucket
@TurntBucket 11 ай бұрын
Are you sure? I figured that the grandma just worshiped him and implanted her family with it. I assume any person that became the leader of the cult could do this to their family. I also assume that you dont even need to be the leader to do this but because its a privilege the leader is the one that gets to do it.

I’m sorry but no . I understand that he’s a teenager and made a terrible mistake and also he’s grieving in his own way. However this needs to be said that doesn’t absolve him of his role of in the death of his sister . As someone who is an older sibling I understand that he wanted to him out with his friends and get drunk and high . And it sucks to have to bring your younger sibling along. But he was responsible for her. He didn’t even pay enough attention to her to see if what she was eating had nuts in them . Which he knows that she was allergic to. Once he did notice he drove high as f and caused the death of his sister and made his own mother see what was left of her child’s body. I completely understand where she’s coming from. Her response was a real response and a completely understandable response

watched this film so many times and i always end up feeling the worst for Peter. one of the most realistic portrayals of shock i’ve ever seen. his presence throughout the film feels more and more dreading as it goes on, just becoming more of a husk. i wish they had included the deleted scene between him and the dad in the final, its so heartbreaking and really gives the realization that he’s just a teenager. Alex Wolff is an incredible actor.

I've mentioned this before on YT, but the part I find most unsettling is that in both 'The Exorcist' and 'Hereditary,' the evil entities whose names are used are ones historically worshipped and conjured. The one from 'The Exorcist' from ancient times in Assyria and Babylon, and the one from 'Hereditary' from a 17th century grimoire. I'm a believer in things spiritual, and try my hardest to associate with the Lord God. This stuff gives me the heebee jeebees.

Going in blind…. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha………. Hope you enjoy, I love this movie. BTW, Annie didn’t dig up the body. If you go back to when the family is returning from her funeral, you can hear noises in the house before they walk in the door. The cult had been going in and out of the house already, and they are the ones who put the body in the attic, wrote the incantations on the walls, and put the triangle on the floor in granny’s room. Also note that Annie doesn’t do any sleepwalking in the entire movie, she actually only dreamed that she was. P.S. The cutaway to Ripley in Aliens was priceless, lol! I’ve left that quote in the comments of many horror movies, and you guys beat me to the punch this time.

Another great reaction. A bit of geekdom here for you. The lore regarding Paimon in this is nearly spot on. They have only made a couple of little changes. 1. Paimon is 1 of 9 Kings of Hell, not 8. They changed this to tie it in with a compass direction. 2. The beheading of sacrifices hasn't got anything to do with Paimons demonic lore. But Feth me does it add some shocking brutality to the movie. 3. The floating bodies IS part of Paimons lore. If you go back & pause on the page about him in the book you'll see that he is able to bend or break the laws of physics. So floating is no problem what so ever. Hope this helps add a bit of extra creepiness to a great horror. Have an amazing week & much love to everyone from here in the UK

They deleted tons of scenes of Steven that you can find on KZbin, and I’m puzzled as to why they didn’t keep more of it. Essentially, Steven is a psychiatrist who met Annie because she was his patient. He’s always suggesting things that they “could” do, but seems to keep a distance because it isn’t considered ethical for a psychiatrist to cross the bridge between personal relations and his profession. There’s more scenes of him telling Annie that he’s becoming afraid of her, and even an apology scene with Peter where Peter says he’s sorry for killing Charlie. The movie was already long so I don’t know how another 5 - 10 minutes was just too much lol

"Existential dread" is the most perfect way to describe this film, I have never felt a family SO doomed, from before the movie even starts, more than this! The dread is thicker than the air in this. Loved your review, and both of your thoughts. This was one of the last films I saw in a theater before Covid shut everything down, and I LOVED it! And critics liked it too, but, at the time, there was also an online backlash from teens, and general audiences, who probably expected jump-scares and constant gore, and then felt tricked into a slowly creeping, brutal family drama, even though it absolutely leads to supernatural horror! Happily, due to reviews like yours, the film has seen some recent redemption, appreciation, and respect. That Toni Collette wasn't nominated for an Oscar for this, makes me take that award less seriously now! There's a long history of The Oscars snubbing genre films, but, c'mon... Everyone in the cast was great, cinematography and score are amazing, and I'm over 50, and it finally replaced "The Shining" as my favorite horror film! I only wish I could share this with my mum too! But, 5 minutes in and she would be OUT! Thanks again, loved this!

Peter was in shock after his sister died. I don't think anyone would know what to do or how to react in that kind of tragic situation.

If you thought this was a high quality movie, you should see Midsummer - its by the same director and its GREAT! Also, I cannot stop recommending The Orphan, I think mum will love it!! 😁

I can’t fathom how anyone - especially someone who does reactions; MOVIE reactions - would have never heard of or about this movie. It’s literally everywhere.
