I always had good experiences with Greyhound. I was a very frequent passenger. My job at the time required me to travel to various places across the country. When I was at the San Bernardino station, they knew I was going pick up trucks in Az. Or other places. They made sure I was considered a priority and got me where I needed to be. All drivers made sure I got to my destinations. An old friend retired from Greyhound. Many drivers knee him or were trained by him. Thank you, Greyhound, for helping me make money.

January 20, 2024. I was departing from Montréal to NY, but trip cancelled due to the mechanical issue, and there was no spare bus. The Greyhound driver even said that ever since Flix aquired Greyhound, it's gone down the drain, and not unusual that many bus trips are cancelled without notice. In the past, if the bus was full, they'd add an extra bus. No longer the case anymore.

First of all, where can I find passengers to bring me starbies?!😂 I'm a driver based out of Atlanta and having passengers with the attitude you carried is what makes for a good trip (even with crying babies 😅)! I also want to point out a not so fun- fun fact- that was not an emergency exit door, that is where a wheelchair passenger will enter the coach. The seats near the wheel chair door and on the other side (because a bus can carry up to 2 wheelchair passengers at once) can be folded a slide forward or backwards to allow space for the wheelchair to be loaded on by the wheelchair lift stored in the 3rd luggage bay. The windows, wind shields, and roof hatches are your actual emergency exits. Anywho, great video, and glad you enjoyed the trip!

It's shocking to see all of the old depots and staff are gone. I was a Greyhound driver for 8 years in the 90's. I was based in Portland, OR and Wichita, KS. In 1970 my family planned on driving our truck with camper to Miami, FL, until we rolled the vehicle on slick highways near Winslow, AZ. My Great Uncle paid for a Greyhound trip for us all (3 kids and parents), which was an adventure. When I finished high school in Sacramento, CA, I joined the US Navy and the Navy processing center was in Oakland. I took my first solo Greyhound trip to Oakland in 1983. When I arrived in Oakland, I had to walk with my luggage to a hotel 3 blocks away which in hindsight was a dangerous thing to do. Even before I left the old Oakland depot, I was asked 2-3 times if I'd like to buy drugs! I was a proud Greyhound driver and considered it one of my favorite jobs in life. The only reason I quit was because I was newly married in Kansas and had sunk roots when they eliminated the driver hub location in Wichita. I finished my driving career as a cross country tour bus driver in 2009 when I went back to University to get a BS and MA in American History. My, how time flies...

Reminds me of the time I drove a bus from Sacramento to Los Angeles, it was my regular run. As we were leaving one morning a guy got on and said he need to go to Hollywood. I told him you're on the right bus we're going to Los Angeles, and took off, he started screaming NO I'm going to Hollywood, before I could explain to him, that Hollywood was just an area in Los Angeles. He jumped off the bus when I was doing 10 miles an hour, rolled around on the concrete. I stopped to see if he was all right and he just gave me the finger. I didn't think any more about it, until the next day. I was on my regular run from Sacramento to LA again, when I see this guy with a bandage head hitchhiking, holding up a sign that says Hollywood or bust. I'll say this he must have busted his head when he fell. And I always wondered if he got a ride with anybody did they tell him they are going to Los Angeles. If so he might have jumped out. This happened in April 1976 but I remember it like yesterday

Before the Trailways buyout, Greyhound was actually a quality company, especially for bus travel. Nowadays, I wouldn't ride under threat of death. Flix has turned Greyhound into a curbside company much like Megabus. There are almost no terminals, a bunch of seedy gas stations, underpasses, and run down grocery stores serving the riders. Almost no agents to speak with in person and loading and transferring your own luggage. Thanks. But no.

I still like to take Greyhound once in a while to look at the country side while being on the expressway. I also take the Greyhound from Chicago to Minneapolis every year 8 hours. I'm also gonna give Indian Trails a chance from Chicago to the state of Michigan. I also love to take Amtrak Hiawatha Service to Milwaukee and i also like the Wolverine to Michigan. The seats on Amtrak are way better because more legroom compared to Greyhound.

You were on the west coast with new buses and terminals. Greyhound has been selling lots of terminals. Now you catch a bus in a McDonald's parking lot, converted gas station or maybe a city bus terminal. Food/restrooms maybe. Not all buses have plugs/wifi either. FYI the Vegas stop is no longer downtown they moved a couple years ago to a city yard south strip area. Definitely gonna need a Uber.

Upon leaving and arriving in San Antonio there was no apparent desire to board/disboard with any urgency to try and arrived in Monterrey within any semblence of the hours scheduled. In San Antonio it took a whole hour to board the passengers before heading to Laredo and finally Monterrey. All of this was after stopping at múltiple stations that were dirty and with barely functioning bathrooms. Upon arriving in Laredo the individual attending was at least the first person who tried helping but unfortunately misdirected me. Because the bus arrived late and the misinformation I Lost 12 hours without being able to sleep in Laredo. Luckily in Monterrey they have proper understanding of how to manage transport and I was able to arrive in México City without more complications. I have used buses and public transport in EVERY part of the world from Thailand to Europe and have never had such a terrible experience.

Greyhound has been through a lot since 1980 and no matter who owns service has never been the same and since they went from 43 to 47 to 50 and now 55 seats there is no legroom for anyone over 6ft tall and that makes for a very uncomfortable ride for any length of time if you have to sit next to someone. Greyhound needs to go back to 52 seat coaches which give decent legroom for everyone and makes for a comfortable ride!

If you take a Greyhoud from Ohio to Orlando, you'll most definitely be on at least two different buses with at least 3 different drivers. I drive for Greyhound and I know theres a route that goes out of Ohio, to Louisville where you'll get a new driver, and that driver would take you from Louisville through Nashville, Chattanooga, and then Atlanta, and once you get in Atlanta you will get a new bus and driver, and then be en route to Orlando. I'm not sure if there's a route that goes through the Carolinas, but if there is, you can expect a similar situation, just a different location for your first driver change- which if I had to guess (if we even have that route) would be in Raleigh NC or Charlotte NC, but once you get to Atlanta, it'll be the same setup either way.

People are standing on the streets to wait for their bus, NO PLACE TO SIT OR GO TO THE BATHROOM OR REST UNTIL YOUR BUS COMES - ... absolutely horrible! Transportation EVERYWHERE has gotten so messed up it's pathetic - People need to contact state and government officials and make huge complaints about this - this is horrible - I've never seen something so damn stupid!

This company is completely garbage. My bf was travelling to Buffalo airport from Toronto and the bus broke down at the US-Canadian border. This company hired clowns as customer service representatives who hung up on her when she called and refused to give her a refund. She had to spend almost $100 for Uber to the airport and had to pay extra to move her flight. I did my research and heard this is quite common with flix as well as peoples luggages getting stolen and unsafe drivers. I have encouraged her to file a law suit as they left her stranded in the middle of nowhere and she missed her flight. I pray everyday this trash company goes out of business

Thanks, I am too. I knew, after watching a ton of videos here on KZbin, how GreyHound was and they were 100% honest and correct. GreyHound should be the LAST option. Our the second leg of the trip told us before we got to the next station that is was going to be very rough there and to literally hold onto our bags, because they would get stolen. I did not feel safe and ( Lord willing ) will NEVER have to travel with Greyhound again.@@babetravelling

Hi there, just to let everyone know i work at greyhound, more specifically at the fares and schedules area and if anyone wants to ask a question im willing to answer anything But just to anser the basic 1) Kids less than 2 years old can travel free, kids at the age of 2 or above need to pay for a ticket. 2) since covid we don't have discounts anynore, greyhound changed their policy's and we are not offering any type of discounts :/ 3) a 16 year old can travel without company, by this i mean that if a kid thats 16 years or above buys a greyhound ticket they are able to travel without any type of documentation 4) we don't really ask out customers to carry on an ID or drivers licence to buy a ticket/aboard the bus, but we recommend you to have the documents needed in case you are crossing the border 5) if you are taking extra luggage remember to add it when you are buing your ticket, extra luggage costs 19.99$ 6) rescheduling your ticket must be done atleast 15 minutes before bus departure, in any case you are not able to change it you will need to pay an extra amount to change time and date of departure 7) if you get stranded in another bus station thats not on your ticket, we recommend the customer to go the nearest greyhound bus station to let the staff know you are stranded, we will change your ticket but if you give us a call asking if we can change it for free, we dont be able to do it. 8) remember that the phone number you call its not customer service, thats the fares and schedules/to schedule your ticket department, if you give us a call regarding a refund, we won't be able to process it because we don't have the necessary tools to make that procedure, that will be with customer service that can be contacted at greyhound page, you'll need to feel out a "request a refund" form and you'll get news within the next 24 to 72 hours post-finalizing the request 9) we are not responsable if the bus departed earlier than estipulated on your ticket since we recommend our customers to be atleast 30 minutes before departure time on the ticket 10) its a must to have an email for us to send the ticket, phone number is not necessary 11) remember that re-scheduling your ticket its reserving a seat on another bus, and a extra payment needs to take place since, like already said, its a different bus and a seat that someone else could've bought at a standard price 12) remember that when the bus driver makes a stop he/she wont wait for you, if he/she gives 10 minutes, than you got 10 minutes to strecth your legs, go to the bathroom and buy somefood, if the bus driver leaves and your luggage its still on the bus and you give us a call, we won't be avle to contact the bus driver, its not that we're not able to, but its because we don't have the bus driver information, and even so, he/she won't get back to get you because he /she has other passengers than need to make transfers and they need to be on time, if you call us we will recommend you to go at greyhound.com and fill out the "missing luggage" form 13) ****FARES AND SCHEDULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE**** we always explain this to our customers because when they give us a call an agent my say a price of a ticket and when he calls us back again asking to the same ticket the price its going to be different, why? Because of demand and depending how full the bus is getting 14) agentd are humans to, just because you overslept and couldn't be on time at the station doesn't mean the agent you call deserves to be yelled at because of customers fault.

Greyhound treats people like trash. This is an obviously sponsored video or greyhounds own pr department. Greyhound can be fine for going within a few hundred miles. But when you go cross country it's really awful.
@babetravelling Жыл бұрын
thank your fo watching and giving your insight. It's not a sponsored video for clarity. I kinda agree that this was a simple trip and cross country would be much more difficult. The Greyhound crew treated us well on this trip and very grateful to them for a safe trip.
