Greyhound Overnight Bus Travel Vlog | Greyhound Bus has a history of problems in the United States and Greyhound is seen as the opposite of luxury. Taking an overnight Greyhound bus for the first time was unique. The greyhound seats were uncomfortable, the bus chargers did not work, the bus was noisy. Greyhound was also late despite there being no traffic as we took two smoke breaks. I would not recommend taking a Greyhound unless it is truly the cheapest and easiest option, or the most efficient. I rode the overnight Greyhound Bus from New York City to Pittsburgh

When I was 13 my dad put me on a Greyhound from Mobile, AL to NYC to save money on an airline ticket to visit my mom for the summer. The bus was not an express and the trip took just over 36 hours. When I saw him again at the end of the summer, I told him if he ever did that to me again, you would never see me again. LOL

what is crazy is that greyhound has become very comparable to budget air travel. It cost $70 for one way NYC to Pittsburgh but flying on Spirit would have cost just $55 one way

I went coast-to-coast, East to West, in 1979 and the word that best describes it is miserable. Dreading a second night, I got off in the late afternoon in Omaha and got a room, shower, shave, pizza and beer and resumed my trip the next day. It almost made it tolerable, but never again.

I gave up on Greyhound in the late 1980s. At this point, plane travel is like a flying bus. Renting a car is the only way to travel across the US. If I had to go overseas, I would seriously look into sea travel.
@landonkissell
@landonkissell 3 ай бұрын
I do not understand how Greyhound still gets business with all of its issues. Especially due to price point with it being rather comparable to air travel nowadays. I've never done a true road trip but I can picture that being so fun. I would love to rent an RV one day and go with a bunch of friends across the west coast.

Flying overseas is much better than domestic if you pick a carrier from a country with no unions or weak unions- Asai or the middle east - they actually do a decent job of pretending they care about your experience- Thai Airways, Emirates’ Korea air, different ballgame than us domestic ,

I stopped using Greyhound after they left me in Newark with no connection. I was supposed to catch a connecting bus out Newark but my inbound bus was 90 minutes late. I went to the ticket office and told them the situation and they said there will be another bus in 8 hours. Obviously I couldn't wait that long and they basically told me "too bad". I told them I wanted a refund and they said no, so I called corporate and worked all the way up the phone chain to the customer service manager who still told me no refund. I ended up walking to the subway station, heading to LaGuardia and flying the rest of the way. I don't envy anybody who has to resort to using Greyhound.

Took an overnight bus from Washington, DC, to Pittsburgh in February. Worst travel experience of my life, the guy sitting next to me had to worst body odor and no sense of personal space. I tried to sleep since I had meetings and classes to go to two hours after getting back to Pittsburgh but I couldn't sleep and the guy sitting next to me kept rolling over and touching me or grabbing me (albeit probably unintentionally). Never again, I'll be forking up $100 extra to fly to DC and back.
