Certainly the spirit of Spice Girls and Sugababes was alive in Renée Downer, Jorja Douglas, and Stella Quaresma when they formed FLO. Considering the impact of the trio’s “Cardboard Box," it seems fans were ready for the girl group sound, too. One of the FLO's strengths is their chemistry, which comes from familiarity. Renée and Stella are childhood friends, and Jorja says she keyed into their vibe immediately. “I knew from the moment [we met] we were about to start something big.” The R&B trio took two years honing their craft before dropping any tracks. That timespan included finding the right producers, such as MNEK, who has credits with Dua Lipa and Beyoncé, and produced “Cardboard Box.” Thanks to deep catchiness and fantastic choreography, snippets of their debut video seem to go viral every other week on Twitter and TikTok - no wonder it has more than three million views on KZbin.
